Brad Pitt stepped out solo Wednesday night to mingle with an impressive crowd of A-listers – but he didn't forget his fans, either.
Showing his new zombie thriller World War Z for the first time, hehosted a star-packed screening at New York City's Museum of Modern Art – then zipped to Hoboken, N.J., where he surprised moviegoers at a late-night sneak preview.
"They said we got to do a showing in the city and I said okay, but we can't do it without showing it to the people who we made the film for," he told the Jersey fans. "So we decided to do it than no other place than Jersey. We've got a monster film, it's epic, scary as hell and I guarantee it's the most intense thing you will see all summer."

Last December, Bryant Gumbel shocked a live television audience when he revealed he recently had surgery to remove a malignant tumor and part of his lung.
A year later, Gumbel, 62, tells PEOPLE his prognosis is excellent.
"I'm still doing well," he said at the UNICEF Snowflake Ball Tuesday in New York City. "Doctors tell me I'm free and clear, so I hope for better times."

Bryant Gumbel is being treated for a malignant tumor, the former Former Today show anchor revealed on Live! With Regis & Kelly Tuesday morning.
The sportscaster and TV host, 61, said he had surgery last month to remove the tumor in his chest, a revelation prompted when Kelly Ripa asked Gumbel, subbing for Regis Philbin, to dance – and he begged off. According to Gumbel, part of his lung was removed, and he will be seeing his surgeon next week.
"We had told a few people, we told my family, obviously. I even kept it from my staff at Real Sports. So I'm okay for the time being," he said. "I'm hoping they greenlight me to play golf again."

Don't expect Don Imus and Bryant Gumbel to exchange Valentines. The radio jock has been goading "The Early Show" host over Gumbel's alleged miserly ways in dealing with his estranged wife June. Last Friday Imus sent demonstrators to Gumbel's CBS studios to protest his behavior. (Only Gumbel took the day off, which many considered odd, given the basement ratings of the still relatively new morning show.) Now comes the latest volley: Gumbel's attorney, Stanley Arkin, has told The Washington Post: "Imus is a jerk. What he does is stupid and banal." Next move, Imus's.
