As Kim Richards remains "devastated" by the death of her ex-husband Monty Brinson, family and friends are posting on social media to mourn the man with a "heart was a big as the moon."
Heartbroken to hear the sad news of my Uncle @MontyBrinson's passing after his long brave battle with cancer. He was such an incredible man with such a huge heart. He was so insightful & positive about life, even with all he was going through. He always had a smile on his face & lit up the room with his positive energy & fun personality. He will be truly missed. My thoughts & prayers are with @BrookeWiederhorn @KimRichards11 & his family. #RIPMontyBrinson
Paris Hilton posted a collage of photos of Brinson on Instagram, writing, "Heartbroken to hear the sad news of my Uncle @MontyBrinson's passing after his long brave battle with cancer. Fans of the Real Housewives franchise were shocked and concerned when Kim Zolciak-Biermann was hospitalized in late September after having a mini stroke.
Though the scare forced the Atlanta-based mother of six out of the competition on Dancing with the Stars, Zolciak-Biermann has been making a full recovery in recent weeks.
Of course, Zolciak-Biermann is far from the first Housewife to endure a difficult health crisis or face down a terrifying diagnosis.
In the years since the franchise first began, fans have watched and supported their favorite stars through their battles with chronic illness and scary hospital stays. And in many instances, the wives themselves have stuck by one another through all manner of horrific health struggles.

Though they've clashed in the past, Lisa Vanderpump only wishes Kim Richards well in the wake of her second arrest in five months.
Because of her ongoing struggles with sobriety, Richards is not returning for the next season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills – a decision Vanderpump supports.
"I'm sorry that Kim's not here because of the situation. That's the thing, but I think that her sobriety is more important than any reality show," she told PEOPLE at her luncheon benefiting the American Humane Association and the Hero Dog Awards (Sponsored by Vanderpump Pets) at PUMP in West Hollywood on Thursday. "I think a lot of people recognize that fact, and that's probably why she's not in this season."
