Candy Spelling Writes Poison-Pen Note to Tori
Originally posted 07/27/2009 08:30AM
Blood isn't only thicker than water, it's harder to clean up. Witness the latest round of fire between long-feuding mother Candy Spelling and daughter Tori Spelling, in which the matriarch unleashes a verbal attack on her offspring, expressing the fact she has no intention of becoming a bit player on the younger Spelling's Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood Oxygen reality series.
In an open letter from Candy, 63, to Tori, 36, published Sunday by TMZ.com, the elder Spelling reacts to the two-part season finale in which Tori makes the "agonizing decision" (Candy's words) to invite her mother to Tori and Dean's daughter Stella's first birthday party – a gathering that Candy did not attend.
Addressed to "MIDDLE-AGED REALITY SHOW STARS (LIKE MY DAUGHTER)," the memo segues from (spelling and punctuation Candy's), "I Know many middle-aged people have issues about their parents and their upbringing. I did," to "A big party wasn't how I envisioned meeting my granddaughter for the first time; but, hey, this is Hollywood, and my grandchildren have become reality show props, too."

Candy Spelling Is a No-Show at Granddaughter's Birthday Party
Originally posted 06/08/2009 03:55PM
Tori Spelling may not be exactly close with mom Candy Spelling – but on Saturday the actress extended an olive branch to her mother: She invited her to daughter Stella's first birthday party.
"She wanted to give Candy an opportunity to see her grandchildren," a source close to Spelling tells PEOPLE. "It was her daughter's first birthday and she wanted her own mom to be there."
Despite RSVPing "yes" to the ladybug-themed luncheon, Candy Spelling never showed up, according to the source. "Tori didn't know until after the fact that she wasn't coming," the source says. "She was waiting for her mom to arrive but she didn't end up showing."

Originally posted 04/13/2009 09:40PM
Claiming she's heard nothing but silence from her daughter, Candy Spelling has posted an emotional public letter to Tori Spelling, urging her to help repair their relationship.
"You haven't responded to my emails, phone calls and text messages," Candy, 63, says Monday on CandySpelling.com. "You say you look at my website, so I'm trying to reach you that way. I want to see you and your family – in private, like the 'normal family' you say always wanted."
Candy says she's been cut off from Tori, 35, and her two children with husband Dean McDermott, Liam, 2, and Stella, 10 months. Tori has responded that her mother can contact her, telling PEOPLE, "She knows how to reach me, she knows where we live."

Feud? What feud?
Tori Spelling insists that the supposed rift between her and her mother, Candy Spelling, isn't nearly as bad as it's been made out to be.
"It's not like we're not talking, we just haven't talked," the actress, whose new book, Mommywood, hits bookstores Tuesday, tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview. "I love my mother. I've always loved her [and] no doubt she loves me. There's no feud. We simply never meshed."
As for what happened between them, Tori, 35, simply says, "My mother is who she is. I've become who I am. At some point I realized those two just didn't go together."

How much? His widow, Candy, is putting the expansive home, called "The Spelling Manor," on the market for a whopping $150 million.
The largest home in Los Angeles County, the French chateau-style property has 56,000 square feet of space and is settled on 5 acres of land.

Her legendary TV producer husband Aaron Spelling died in 2006, and her reality-star daughter Tori Spelling is on her own, so Candy Spelling has decided to live more frugally – in a $47-million, two-story condo in Century City, the Los Angeles Times reports.
The 16,500-sq.-ft. property is perched on the top floor of a residential tower currently under construction, and will be her new home after the lavish, 56,500-sq.-ft. estate where she now lives. That home – with its 11 bedrooms and 16 bathrooms – is Los Angeles County's largest house.
