As Carnie Wilson mulled over whether to undergo the Lap-Band procedure, she was afraid to tell sister Wendy Wilson and best friend Chynna Phillips.
"It's not like me to hide things, but I'm in quite a bit of fear about this," Carnie, 43, says on her TV Guide Network reality series taped before she had the January surgery. "That's really the reason why I've put this off, not telling Wendy and Chynna. Something has to be done."
Sitting in between her Wilson Phillips Still Holding On costars and former band mates at lunch, Carnie says, "I want to tell you guys something. I am going to have another type of weight-loss surgery that is going to help me."

Carnie Wilson Feeling 'Great' After Dizzy Spell
Originally posted 04/01/2010 01:40PM
Internet buzz that Carnie Wilson fainted while taping an episode of The Newlywed Game is false, a network spokesperson tells PEOPLE.
Wilson "did briefly become lightheaded while taping The Newlywed Game on Thursday, March 18," says the spokesperson. "Carnie took a 10-minute break, then finished taping the show. Paramedics were not called to the set that day, but GSN did provide a medic on-set the following Monday as a purely precautionary measure.
Clearing up rumors about the 41-year-old host of GSN's Newlywed Game, the spokesperson adds: Wilson "finished shooting" the show's third season Wednesday "with no further lightheadedness."
"I'm feeling great," Wilson said. "I appreciate everyone's concern and thoughtfulness, but I'm busy and happy and doing really well."
Wilson, who has been struggling with weight loss after undergoing bypass surgery in 1999, told PEOPLE in February she "needs help" with her weight battle. "I don't want to be drastic. I want to be realistic," she said.

Hold on for one more day? It's not that easy anymore for Carnie Wilson, who has realized she can no longer fight her weight battle alone.
"I need help," the singer, who now weighs 212 lbs., tells PEOPLE.
Wilson weighed over 300 lbs. before undergoing gastric bypass surgery in 1999. She lost 150 lbs., but has struggled to keep the weight off.
"Having children derailed me a bit," says the Wilson Phillips singer, who has been unable to lose the 61 lbs. she gained while pregnant with daughter Luciana, born last June. (Wilson had put on 70 lbs. during her pregnancy with daughter Lola, now 4.)
The singer, who stars in the GSN reality show Carnie Wilson: Unstapled, finally got a wakeup call during a Feb. 4 appearance on The Dr. Oz Show, where she was weighed onstage. The host defined her as morbidly obese and prediabetic, and placed her on a weight-loss program.
