In an upcoming episode of Oprah: Where Are They Now on OWN, YouTube sensation and former Glee star Charice Pempengco gets personal, addressing gender identity questions head on.
"Basically, my soul is like male," Pempengco, 22, tells Oprah Winfrey after the talk show host asks about rumors of a gender transition. "But I'm not going to go through that stage where I change everything."
In recent months, the singer and actress, who officially came out as a lesbian last year, has gone through some significant appearance changes, causing some to speculate that aside from sexual orientation, a full gender transformation may be underway.

Glee actress Charice Pempengco is speaking out about her sexuality.
When asked Sunday night during an interview with Filipino talk show host Boy Abunda on The Buzz if she is a lesbian, Pempengco replied in her native language Tagalog, "Yes ... I am."
Explaining that she chose to share the news on the popular show, Pempengco said, "I have deep gratitude for the Filipinos because they are the ones who know who I really am. ... I don't know what the problem is because for me, there is no problem with that. So now I ask for forgiveness from those who don't understand. And those who cannot accept. I apologize: I understand you."

The father of Glee actress Charice Pempengco was stabbed to death in the Philippines after a run-in with another man in a grocery store, the Associated Press reports.
Ricky Pempengco, 40, was shopping in San Pedro township when he bumped into Angel Capili, who allegedly stabbed Pembengco in the chest and back with an ice pick, said Laguna province police chief, Senior Supt. Gilbert Cruz.
Capili then fled the scene, and a manhunt has since been launched, with a reward of 20,000 pesos ($470) for information leading to his arrest.
According to Cruz, the killing appeared random.

Glee is back! And so is Sunshine Corazon.
The foreign-exchange student, played by pop star Charice, arrived at McKinley High on the season 2 premiere as a talented addition to New Directions. But, it turned out, she was too talented for Rachel Berry, who sabotaged her by sending her to a crack house instead of glee club auditions. Sunshine decided she'd be better off as a part of rival glee club Vocal Adrenaline.
On Tuesday's episode – the first since March 15 – the New Directions kids are faced with the challenge of raising money for their trip to New York City and to help the Brainiacs get to the academic decathlon finals in Detroit. Instead of going with Mr. Schuester's idea of selling taffy, Holly Holiday suggests selling tickets to a benefit concert of songs by "neglected artists."
