Charlie Sheen's Son Released from Hospital

Originally posted 04/07/2009 02:10PM

Some three weeks after his birth, Max Sheen has gone home to join his parents Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller Sheen and twin brother Bob, a spokesman for the Two and a Half Men star confirms.

Max had remained under medical care due to birth-weight-related issues, Sheen's rep, Stan Rosenfield, said earlier this month. He has now confirmed to PEOPLE that the infant, born March 14, was released several days ago.

"Premature babies are often underweight. Max made weight and went home," Rosenfield said. "It's frustrating to be a parent and not have your family home with you. This is the last week of Two and a Half Men [which is going on hiatus], so Charlie and Brooke will be able to spend some quality time with their kids."

At just over 2 weeks old, Max Sheen is already in the spotlight as questions swirl about why he has yet to leave the L.A. hospital where he was born – along with his brother Bob – on March 14.

"Charlie and Brooke's infant son Max remains in the hospital, not because of a heart condition as reported, but because he has not gained the weight necessary to leave the hospital," Sheen's publicist, Stan Rosenfield, says in a statement. "Max is expected to reach the weight requirement shortly and will join his brother at home."

Proud papa Sheen jokes that his son is suffering from a common affliction: aversion to hospital food.

Charlie Sheen: I Can't Tell My Twin Sons Apart – Yet

They're not identical, but Charlie Sheen's new twins are still managing to fool their dad.

"I can't tell [who's who]!" Sheen, 43, tells Entertainment Tonight from the set of Two and a Half Men just days after wife Brooke Mueller Sheen, 31, delivered twin sons. "They're not identical, but at this stage, they're similar enough."

Their names, on the other hand, aren't giving him any trouble. Max and Bob "are very short and simple – easy to spell and remember," Sheen says. "Bob is the same frontward and backward. I'm a fan of a short and simple name. Max was literally Nick until about a minute before he came out."

The actor's two daughters with ex-wife Denise Richards are eager to spend time with their newborn half-brothers, according to their mom.

The Two and Half Men star and his wife, Brooke Mueller Sheen, welcomed twin boys, Max and Bob, on Saturday night.

"[Brooke and Charlie] just had the babies and we're letting Brooke heal," Richards added to Access Hollywood. "Then they will see their new brothers. They can't wait. They actually drew a picture for them, they are so excited."

Originally posted 02/21/2009 09:30PM

Is Charlie Sheen hoping for a couple of sluggers when his wife, Brooke, gives birth to twin boys in April? It would seem so based on the sports-themed baby shower held for the couple on Saturday afternoon.

At the party – which was attended by a variety of stars including Paris Hilton, Eric Dane and baseball star Barry Bonds – kids decorated cupcakes with baseballs and basketballs, and blue and brown candy filled up apothecary jars.

The family-friendly outdoor affair was held at the Los Angeles home of Dr. 90210 star Dr. Nassif and his wife Adrienne Maloof-Nassif. Also among the star-studded guests were Christine Taylor with her 6-year-old daughter Ella, Two and a Half Men's Jon Cryer with his son Charlie, and Sheen's two daughters Sam, 4, and Lola, 3, along with his father Martin Sheen.

Charlie Sheen and ex Denise Richards's daughters are unharmed after being involved in a car accident Friday in Malibu, his rep tells PEOPLE.

"Charlie told me that the girls are fine," said publicist Stan Rosenfield. "He said it could have been much worse. They were in their car seats, and he is extremely grateful for the safety features from Mercedes.”

The girls, Sam, 4, and Lola, 3, were being driven in a Mercedes SUV around 3:30 p.m. when a Honda Civic made a turn in front of them, sparking a four-car collision, Sgt. Evans of the L.A. Sheriff's Department confirms. The girls' nanny was driving.
