The brides wore white.
Country singer Chely Wright and partner Lauren Blitzer tied the knot Saturday at a private home in Connecticut – and now the happy newlyweds have shared a photo from their ceremony.
"The Blitzer-wrights," Tweeted Blitzer, 30, on the day of her wedding, along with the photo of the women standing face-to-face in long wedding gowns by J. Crew Bridal.
Before their nuptials, Wright, 40, told PEOPLE she would be going the traditional route, but opted out of wearing veils because, "We like our hair too much!"

It was a serendipitous start to what would be a fairy tale ending.
Just two weeks after coming out last year, country singer Chely Wright met her partner, Lauren Blitzer. And on Saturday, they were married.
Wright, 40, wed Blitzer, 30, a GLBT Civil Rights activist, at Blitzer’s aunt’s home in Connecticut. Both brides wore white wedding gowns by J. Crew Bridal, but opted out of wearing veils because, Wright told PEOPLE, "We like our hair too much!"

In the midst of planning an interfaith, same-sex wedding, country singer Chely Wright says she's all about tradition, right down to the gown.
"It will definitely be a wedding dress," she says. But there's a complicating factor in that fiancée Lauren Blitzer will also be wearing white.
"When two women get married, you want the dresses to coordinate, so we've been showing pictures to each other," Wright, 40, told PEOPLE after a Nashville Film Festival screening of Wish Me Away, an autobiographical film about her decision last year to come out.
One tradition they'll do without? "We're not wearing veils – we both like our hair too much!" she says.

Less than a year after coming out, Chely Wright is engaged.
"Out country singer Chely Wright and her fiancée, Lauren Blitzer, a GLBT Civil Rights activist, have set a date and plan to be married in Connecticut Aug. 20," Wright's rep tells PEOPLE. "They met through their youth advocacy work, and say that their passion for Scrabble holds them together."
"The freedom of being out and open about who I am allowed me to find and fall in love with Lauren," Wright tells PEOPLE, "the most amazing woman I've ever known."
Wright hid her sexuality up until last May for fear of being shunned by the country music community.

Country singer Chely Wright's reasoning was sound. "There had never, ever been a country music artist who had acknowledged his or her homosexuality," she tells PEOPLE. "I wasn't going to be the first."
But now Wright is changing her tune. "Nothing in my life has been more magical than the moment I decided to come out," she says.
Wright, 39, recalls of her youth in the South: "I don't have a memory in my life that doesn't include the dream of making music." But during her childhood and rapid ascent to fame in the county world, she also experienced a community in which homosexuality was shunned. "I hid everything for my music," says Wright.
