DWTS's Cheryl Burke: I'm In a 'Healthy' Relationship

Two-time Dancing with the Stars champ, Cheryl Burke has spent the last eight seasons of her life helping others to realize their potential, so it's only fitting that she's found someone to do the same for her.
Burke calls her model boyfriend Maxwell Zagorski a "great influence in [her] life."
"He loves to go to the gym and he motivates me, so it's a good relationship we have!" Burke told PEOPLE at the 2009 Ivy Bethune Tri-Union Diversity Awards in L.A., where she was being honored (along with actor George Takei). "He's a model and so he needs to keep his body in shape, as well."
Their relationship, she said, is "going great," but she noted that he's also played a major role in helping her to stay healthy and keep her new beach body looking hot.

Cheryl Burke Shows Off Her Summer Bikini Body

Last October, Cheryl Burke defended her curves when bloggers slammed her for gaining weight. But new photos of the Dancing with the Stars beauty in St. Lucia should silence any critics.
Fresh from a Caribbean vacation with her boyfriend, model Maxwell Zagorski, Burke, 25, tells PEOPLE that shedding the pounds and maintaining "the ideal weight for me" has been relatively simple.
"I gained a few pounds and everybody was talking about it last year," the two-time Dancing champ says. "But taking it off was simply a matter of doing a bit more cardio to supplement my dancing. I'm also making sure I eat clean foods and healthy snacks."

Dancing with the Stars two-time champ Cheryl Burke has a new spring in her step – thanks to a new man in her life.
Burke is enjoying a budding romance with Abercrombie & Fitch model Maxwell Zagorski, her rep confirms to PEOPLE. The couple, who recently stepped out together in Hollywood, have been dating for several months.
Burke, 24 and Zagorski, 21, "were introduced by Lance Bass, a few months ago when she was on tour," a friend close to the couple tells PEOPLE. "She seems to be pretty happy."

Dancing's Maksim Denies Criticizing Cheryl Burke's Weight

Maksim Chmerkovskiy has denied criticizing Dancing With the Stars pros Cheryl Burke and Lacey Schwimmer over their weight, telling PEOPLE his reported comments were "taken completely out of context."
"I am outspoken but I do not discriminate how people look," Chmerkovskiy, 28, says. "That's the great thing about ballroom – unlike jazz and ballet – it doesn't discriminate. People of all shapes and sizes and levels of ability can take part in ballroom dancing."
He says he had been commenting generally about "how excess weight on the body takes its toll on the joints, the lower back," he explains. Schwimmer put on weight after an extensive recuperation period following knee surgery last year. Burke told PEOPLE last month she gained a few pounds over the summer, the result of not dancing every day.
"I never criticized Cheryl or Lacey," Chmerkovskiy says.

Jennifer Love Hewitt empathized with Cheryl Burke, calling scrutiny of the Dancing With the Stars competitor's body "really insensitive."
"Cheryl Burke is so beautiful and an amazing dancer and that's what people should concentrate on," Hewitt, 29, who last year fought back against criticism of her bikini body, said Wednesday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Burke, 24, was recently criticized by DWTS pros Louis Van Amstel and Maksim Chmerkovskiy for gaining a few pounds over the summer – to which the Ghost Whisperer star responds: "I think [people] feel like people don't have any feelings."

Former Dancing with the Stars partners Drew Lachey and Cheryl Burke are denying tabloid reports that the pair were doing more than just dancing.
A report claiming the pair had an affair are "completely false and cannot be further from the truth," a rep for Lachey tells PEOPLE. A rep for Burke adds, "The story that Cheryl is involved with Drew Lachey started two years ago when they were partners on Dancing with the Stars. It wasn't true then and it isn't true now."
A source close to the show also called the report "untrue and irresponsible."
