Cruise in Control on the Red Carpet

Tom Cruise may only have a small part in Tropic Thunder, but he ruled the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere.

Cruise, who donned a fat suit to play studio exec Les Grossman in the film, stayed close to wife Katie Holmes Monday night, greeting fans and only letting go of her hand to pose for a quick cast shot.

Other than the fans, fellow star were happy to see the couple – PEOPLE caught Matthew McConaughey, Ben Stiller and Jack Black all giving big hugs to Cruise. And costar Jay Baruchel told PEOPLE that Cruise is "the funniest guy in the world."

PARIS DISCONNECT: So much for those unlisted star numbers. Earlier this week, hackers cracked Paris Hilton's cell phone directory and posted the numbers of the rich and famous roster on the Internet. Within hours celebs including Victoria Gotti, Lindsay Lohan, and Ashlee Simpson were deluged with calls. More than 500 numbers and personal notes from Hilton's Sidekick II personal device hit the Web, and the thieves also reportedly accessed some revealing pictures of the Simple Life star. Hilton apologized for the incident, declaring she felt "horrible" about the invasion her friends had to endure.

Special Father's Day Edition

Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor's daughter, Ella Olivia, just turned 2 in April, so she's too young yet to give us the lowdown on her famous parents (but we'll get her eventually). So for the moment, we had to settle on asking Stiller about his little girl. Is she more like him, or his actress wife (and costar in Dodgeball)? "Christine would probably say she's a lot like me from the reports she's heard from my parents (comedians Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara) about what I was like when I was a kid, which is a frightening thought," he told us at a benefit in Brentwood, Calif., recently. "She's very strong-willed and knows what she wants." As for how he feels about fatherhood in general: "It just gets better and better every day because as they become more of a person, and you can interact with them, it becomes much more fun, at least, I think, for the dad."
