Seth Rogen: I Proposed to My Girlfriend When She Was Topless
Originally posted 11/09/2010 10:30AM
Little did Seth Rogen know that the engagement ring he bought for Lauren Miller would end up working best as a nipple ring.
Rogen, 28, had grand plans for the proposal but claims he had to improvise when he raced into the room to pop the question only to realize his actress girlfriend was topless.
"She was in our closet, changing, and she was literally only in her underpants," Rogen told Conan O'Brien on his brand new TBS talk show Monday. "I had already kind of started [to propose]. … I didn't picture it like this, and I know she didn't picture it like this."
POLL: Conan O'Brien or Paris Hilton – Who Rocks the Soap Bubbles Best?

Watch out, Paris Hilton. You've got competition for best foamy bathing video.
Conan O'Brien seductively sprays and scrubs his (fully clothed) body with a soapy sponge in a funny promo for his new upcoming TBS talk show Conan. It's a silly homage to the heiress's sexy car wash commercial for Carl's Jr. fast-food outlets, but does raise a question:

His competition is Jay Leno and David Letterman. His roommates will be George Lopez and Ellen DeGeneres.
Conan O'Brien will film his upcoming late-night TBS talk show at the historic Stage 15 on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, according to the Hollywood Reporter. That's the same lot that's already home to Lopez and DeGeneres's daily shows.
"I can't wait to interview the cast of Jersey Shore on the same lot where they filmed Casablanca," O'Brien says.

Conan O'Brien: I Would Never Do What Jay Leno Did to Me
Originally posted 04/29/2010 06:25PM
If the tables had been turned during their late-night dispute, Conan O'Brien says he knows what he would – and wouldn't – have done to Jay Leno.
"He went and took that show back and I think in a similar situation, if roles had been reversed, I know – I know me, I wouldn't have done that," O'Brien, 47, says in his first post-Tonight Show interview, scheduled to air on 60 Minutes Sunday.
In the interview, the new TBS late-night host tells Steve Kroft that he would not have "surrendered The Tonight Show and handed it over to somebody publicly and wished them well – and then ... six months later… But that's me, you know."
Adding that "Everyone's got their own, you know, way of doing things," O'Brien, who's been on the road for his 30-date North American tour, says if he had been in Leno's shoes, he would've "done something else, go someplace else."
Jim Carrey Crashes Conan O'Brien's Stage Show – as Superman
Originally posted 04/26/2010 12:25PM
Jim Carrey made a memorable cameo at Conan O'Brien's stage show in L.A. on Saturday night, performing the title role in a spirited duet with O'Brien of the Five for Fighting song "Superman."
Carrey's unexpected appearance in a cape and tights brought screams of delight from the crowd at O'Brien's "Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on TV" show, which he performed Saturday at the same Universal lot where he used to film The Tonight Show.
"Jim Carrey rudely interrupted my power ballad last night. How did he get past security in a Superman outfit?" O'Brien Tweeted later.

Reviews Are In: Conan O'Brien a Hit on the Road!

Live, from Eugene, Oregon – it's Conan O'Brien.
On the very day he announced the launch of his upcoming new TV show on Fox – oops, make that TBS – the famously deposed Tonight show host kicked off his 32-city North American live comedy tour at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts before an appreciative crowd of more than 2,500 people.
As described by New York's WNBC News on Tuesday morning, The Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on TV presentation found O'Brien delivering "gentle" jibes toward his onetime bosses at NBC – while other news reports noted that he never once mentioned his former network by name.
"This is the first time anyone has ever paid to see me perform," the comic told Monday's crowd in Oregon. "But people have paid to make me go away."

Conan O'Brien Taking Late-Night Show to Cable
Originally posted 04/12/2010 01:15PM
Conan O'Brien has emerged from the late-night war with Jay Leno at NBC with a new show beginning in November on TBS.
“In three months I’ve gone from network television to Twitter to performing live in theaters, and now I’m headed to basic cable. My plan is working perfectly," O'Brien said in a statement.
On his Twitter page, he joked: "The good news: I will be doing a show on TBS starting in November! The bad news: I'll be playing Rudy on the all new Cosby Show."
His new show will air Monday through Thursday at 11 p.m., taking the current slot of George Lopez's show Lopez Tonight, which will then move to midnight.

Jay Leno: Conan O'Brien and I 'Got Screwed' by NBC
Originally posted 03/31/2010 03:30PM
Joy Behar may have been the guest on Tuesday's The Tonight Show, but host Jay Leno was the one who really dished.
In a short conversation backstage, Leno told Behar for her HLN show that he and Conan O'Brien were both "treated terribly" in January's shake-up at NBC, which eventually restored him as host of The Tonight Show.
"Conan got screwed. I got screwed," Leno said. "This is TV. The reason show business pays a lot of money is so when you get screwed you've got something left over."
But Leno expects O'Brien, who recently announced a 30-city North American tour, to return to television eventually.

Conan O'Brien Taking His 'Prohibited' Act on the Road
Originally posted 03/11/2010 12:00PM
He's been Tweeting regularly since ending his gig as Tonight Show host. But soon, Conan O'Brien fans will get to hear more than an 140-character message from the redheaded comedian.
On Thursday, O'Brien announced via his Twitter that he's hitting the road for a 30-date North American tour, beginning April 12 in Eugene, Ore. "Hey Internet: I'm headed to your town on a half-a**ed comedy & music tour," the former late-night host Tweeted.
What will the shows entail? O'Brien didn't specify, though a newly launched Web site advertises "a night of music, comedy, hugging and the occasional awkward silence." In a (funny) nod to the fact that his final contract negotiations with NBC prohibit O'Brien from appearing on television until Sept 1., the comedian has dubbed this jaunt the "Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour."
Tickets are already on sale – and apparently selling quickly, too. In a follow-up Tweet, O'Brien writes, "We are now adding a second show in both NYC & Chicago. For that second show, I'll be doing all Liza Minnelli songs."
The tour will wrap June 14 in Atlanta, after a stop at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tenn.

Couple to Get Fairy Tale Wedding Thanks to Conan O'Brien
Originally posted 03/08/2010 05:20PM
Conan O'Brien may seem like an unlikely fairy godmother – but he has made one Michigan woman's dreams come true.
Two weeks ago, the late-night comedian decided to follow a stranger on Twitter. That person is 19-year-old Sarah Killen from Fowlerville. "I've decided to follow someone at random," O'Brien tweeted. "She likes peanut butter and gummy dinosaurs."
Killen hasn't been the same since.
"He's changed my life," she tells PopEater.
Most importantly, she can now have her fantasy wedding, thanks to all the attention O'Brien has drummed up for her.
