WOOED: NBC News stars Matt Lauer (Today), 46, and Tim Russert (Meet the Press), 54, are reputedly among those on CBS's wish list of "outsiders" to replace Evening News anchor Dan Rather, 73, who announced that he will leave the top spot next March. Newsweek reports that both men were approached by the rival network, though their responses are not revealed. CBS newsmen John Roberts and Scott Pelley are also said to be in the running for the Rather spot.

SPOTTED: Martha Stewart, 63, due to begin her five-month prison sentence this week, spent the weekend vacationing at the Ocean Club Hotel on the Bahamas' Paradise Island and was photographed stepping out of the surf in a one-piece black bathing suit. The domestic diva – soon to be No. 55170-054 at a federal prison facility in Alderson, W. Va. – spent Saturday night at the wedding reception of her longtime publicist Susan Margrino. "It was just the nicest two days," Stewart said.
