It's no secret Emma Watson – a.k.a. Hermione Granger in Harry Potter's world – wants a degree from an American college, preferably an Ivy League school like Brown. At U.S. universities "you're encouraged to be broad and choose many different subjects," the U.K.-bred actress tells this month's Interview magazine.

But there's a American-college ritual that the star, 19, currently at work on the seventh and eighth installments of Harry Potter, plans to skip: a crazy spring break on a sunny beach.

Harry Potter Sets His Final Date

Originally posted 02/27/2009 10:10AM

Mark your calendar: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II will be released July 15, 2011, Warner Bros. has announced.

Part I of the film will open Nov. 19, 2010, the studio said last August. Both films are based on the 608-page seventh book in author J.K. Rowling's series.

In all, the first five Harry Potter movies, with a maturing Daniel Radcliffe in the lead, have made $4.5 billion internationally, surpassing the box-office records of both the James Bond and Star War series.

In other news from Warners, director Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes, starring Robert Downey Jr. as the great detective and Jude Law as sidekick Dr. Watson, will not open this coming Nov. 1, as originally planned, but on Christmas Day.

The book series may be finished, but the movies aren't. Make way for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

The sixth installment of the seven-part screen adventures is set to open July 17 – but here PEOPLE presents a first look at the poster for this highly anticipated release.

For those with dim memories of the 2005 novel: When the Dark Side begins making waves in the wizardry world, Harry (Daniel Radcliff) starts private defense classes with Dumbledore (Michael Gambon), all the while learning the history of his enemy, Voldemort (Ralph Finnes). His source? A journal by the half-blooded prince.

As for whether Harry or the Dark Side shall prevail, Muggles will just have to wait and see.

Stars Cheer on Daniel Radcliffe in Equus

Since opening on Broadway last month, Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe has been attracting Hollywood's A-list to Equus, the show in which he stars.

Julia Roberts, Liam Neeson, Natasha Richardson, Lisa Rinna, Jeff Goldblum, Emma Roberts (Julia's niece), and Nathan Lane are just some of the big names who've seen Radcliffe's critically acclaimed turn – and infamous 10-minute nude scene – in the play about a teenager's unhealthy obsession with horses.

"The draw for film stars is to witness first-hand one of their most successful colleagues pulling off such a major 180-degree turn from his established screen persona," says one theater insider, noting how far removed this Broadway character is from Radcliffe's G-rated Harry Potter.

The show, which opened on Sept. 25, runs through Feb. 8.

Glenn Close, Lili Taylor and The Sixth Sense's Haley Joel Osment were among the those in the crowd for the much-anticipated revival of Peter Shaffer's drama about a young man with a pathological fascination with horses.

Osment, who himself is starring in upcoming Broadway revival – of David Mamet's 1976 American Buffalo – told PEOPLE, "I'm happy to be here supporting another great work of theater. It's a great season for Broadway."

Daniel Radcliffe is gearing up for his official Broadway debut Thursday night in Equus at the Broadhurst Theater – and says being onstage is tough work.

"There's a lot of sweat on me by the end [of the show]," Radcliffe, 19, tells USA Today. "I'm a physically repellent thing. At least it's good exercise. I don't have to go to the gym."

Another perk for the Harry Potter star, who began his Equus preview performances Sept. 5: His new schedule – including rehearsals and mostly evening performances – allows him "to lie in bed much later than I do in London, which is great."
