For three years, Danny Bonaduce had promised Amy Railsback that he would marry her anytime and that he had even bought her a ring, but he wanted her to take care of the paperwork.
Then last November then phone rang.
"The wedding planner from the hotel called to speak with Amy and told me I was getting married!” Bonaduce, 51, tells PEOPLE. “I said, ‘Honey you got something to tell me?’ Then I thought about it, and said, ‘This is a great idea!’”

Danny Bonaduce has finalized his divorce, agreeing to pay $16,000 a month in child support and alimony and getting joint custody of his two children, court papers show.
The 49-year-old former star of The Partridge Family, who became a reality show star and radio host, also will split many of his assets with ex-wife – and Breaking Bonaduce costar – Gretchen.
Bonaduce earns $500,000 a year from CBS as a radio personality and made $280,000 from the reality show I Know My Kid's a Star, the filings show.
The detailed filing shows that Bonaduce will pay $6,000 in support monthly for his 13-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son and $10,000 a month in support to Gretchen.
Gretchen, 43, filed for divorce in 2007, and the matter was finalized on Tuesday, according to the L.A. Superior Court filing.

Jonny Fairplay has just 20 days to to explain why the producers of Fox Reality Channel's Really Awards should pay up after he was injured on camera by Breaking Bonaduce star Danny Bonaduce.
Superior Court Judge Michael C. Solner ruled Tuesday that "more facts" from Fairplay would prevent his case being pulled from the schedule, the Associated Press reports.
