Who can hold a candle to Elton John?
The singer's husband David Furnish recently revealed that they've started work on Rocketman, a movie about John's "very extraordinary and unique life," he tells Entertainment Weekly.
While Scottish actor James McAvoy is rumored to be the frontrunner to play Sir Elton, we've got some other ideas for the role – especially when it comes to slipping in to John's glamorous (and spangly) '70s wardrobe.
On our list: comic actor David Cross (of Arrested Development); The League's Paul Scheer, who more than bares a passing resemblance to the '70s-era star; Mike Myers, who, apart from being a comedy star, is musically-inclined; and Scottish star Ewan McGregor who's already posed as a glam rocker in Todd Haynes's Velvet Goldmine.

David Cross and his longtime girlfriend, Amber Tamblyn, are engaged to be married, her rep confirms to PEOPLE.
The actress, 28 – who starred in General Hospital and Joan of Arcadia before moving on to the big screen in the 2005 hit The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants – recently returned to TV with a role on House.
Cross, 47, is perhaps best known for his outrageousness on the 2003-06 cult sitcom Arrested Development, on which he played the gaffe-prone, madcap Tobias Fünke. Talk of a feature movie based on the show has long been circulating. Currently, he stars in the British-American comedy TV series The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret.
