Sure John Mayer is Twitter obsessed, but that doesn't mean he can't see why somebody else would want off the social network.
Last week Miley Cyrus, deleted her Twitter account citing a desire to keep her "private life private" and stating in her last Tweet that rumored beau Liam Hemsworth wanted her to delete her account.
"She's smart enough to realize there is some interference of the brain that she doesn't want to deal with," Mayer, who just celebrated his 32nd birthday, told MTV. "I think if you're in Miley's situation, it might take a little too much time to play goalie for your own heart and mind."

Demi Lovato's Nickname For Miley Cyrus? 'Dragon'

Demi Lovato may have recently split with Trace Cyrus, but she finds time to chat to her best friend – his sister, Miley – every day.
And what does the 16-year-old call Miley in those chats? "Dragon." She tells
the September issue of Sugar magazine (her first cover shoot in
the U.K.) the nickname comes from "our fave film, Step Brothers." She adds the megastar has "given me so much advice" to help her cope with fame.
"Recently she sent me this four-page text message encouraging me and telling me she has faith in me. It was so inspiring and made me feel great – because I do get a bit overwhelmed by the paps sometimes."

Demi Lovato and Trace Cyrus Split

Age and distance put a strain on Demi Lovato's fledging romance with Trace Cyrus, and the couple has split, Cyrus tells PEOPLE exclusively.
"Demi is one of my good friends and I definitely became very, very close with her in the past few months, and it's something I really wanted to make work. But unfortunately, we both have very busy schedules – we're both on tour right now," says the Metro Station singer, who is also brother to Miley Cyrus. "I'm always on the other side of the world and so is she, so it just seemed like something that can't work out at this time."
Despite the split, there are no hard feelings between the two. "We gave it a shot and that's all you can do," says Cyrus. "Every time I hung out with that girl or talked on the phone with her, it was amazing. She's someone I can totally relate to.

Selena Gomez & Demi Lovato Crash a Prom

There was no limo or corsage– but that didn't stop Selena Gomez from having the most memorable prom night ever.
The Wizards of Waverly Place star crashed the Etobicoke Collegiate Institute prom on Thursday night, following the premiere of her new Disney Channel movie Princess Protection Program, which also stars her real-life best friend Demi Lovato and debuts June 26.
During a dinner at Toronto's Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex, a curious Gomez, 16, snuck out of her own premiere party and strolled around the complex before coming across the Etobicoke prom. She kindly asked the security guard if she could check out the scene and once inside, the Disney Channel star surprised a group of girls dancing in the middle of the floor by rocking out with them for a few songs.
"They were all dancing in a group and having fun," says a witness. "Selena was thrilled to see firsthand what a real prom is like and that her dress was much like the other girl's dresses."

Selena Gomez: I've Never Been in Love

Sure, she's been linked to some of Hollywood's hottest teens – do the names Nick Jonas and Taylor Lautner ring any bells? – but Selena Gomez says she hasn't ever been in love.
"I think everybody has their own interpretations of love," she tells PEOPLE in a special issue on newsstands Friday that is dedicated to Gomez and her best friend Demi Lovato. "I've cared a lot for people. I don't believe I've been strictly in love."
Gomez, whose Disney Channel movie, Princess Protection Program, will air on June 26, isn't giving any clues as to who those guys she's cared for are – and whether New Moon's Lautner is one of them.

Tiffany Thornton Embracing Her New Stardom

A new name is poised to join the ranks of Disney megastars: Tiffany Thornton, better known as teen queen Tawni Hart on the Disney Channel's Sonny with a Chance.
When it comes to adjusting to life in Hollywood, some well-connected friends are helping out, including costar Demi Lovato. "Demi is beautiful and talented," Thornton tells PEOPLE. "She's a busy, busy girl. She and I have grown really close, like sisters, over the process of being on the show together."
Thornton, 23, also thinks the Jonas Brothers, set to debut on their own Disney Channel show soon, are "such sweethearts. They've been raised to be so respectful, and they love their fans."

Demi Lovato Launches Summer Tour

Chances are Demi Lovato is coming to a town near you this summer.
The 16-year-old star of Disney Channel's Sonny with a Chance and Camp Rock will headline Summer Tour 2009, Hollywood Records announced Wednesday morning. The 47-city North American tour, kicks off June 21 in Hartford, Conn.
"I'm so excited about headlining my own tour. I love life on the road. I’m in a different city every night and it never gets old," Lovato tells PEOPLE.
Last summer, Lovato, who is currently in the studio recording her second solo album, hit the road with her Camp Rock costars the Jonas Brothers. This time around American Idol season seven runner-up David Archuleta will be Lovato's opening act. Musical artists Jordan Pruitt and KSM will also appear on select dates throughout the summer.

John Mayer had Demi Lovato virtually blushing after complimenting her new song "La La Land" on Twitter Thursday.
"I have 'La La Land' by @ddlovato stuck in my head," Mayer tweeted. "Actually, it's not stuck. I'm choosing to sing it. B section is sophisticated."
The star of Disney's Sonny with a Chance, who performed a song off her debut album Don't Forget on Dancing with the Stars Tuesday, replied, "That is quite possibly the best compliment I've received in this business. Thank you so, so much!"

Demi Lovato has released a new video on MySpace Celebrity, and it's hard not to notice that the 16-year-old Camp Rock star is growing up.
The video for "Don't Forget" starts with Lovato in her tour bus on a rainy night, and includes a raucous onstage performance. The song is the title track from her debut studio album, which was released in September.
Last month, Lovato reflected on growing up on her blog. "I think over this next year you all are going to watch me evolve into a new person," she wrote. "Don't be scared if I start to wear less black or eye-makeup ... I'm not changing – just maturing."

• BFFs Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus followed up their sweet Grammy duet by hanging with another set of BFFs: Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. The foursome shared a table at the premiere party for Lovato's Disney Channel show Sonny With a Chance at The Improve in L.A. – and they giggled and cheered while watching the first episode. The group also munched on a huge plate of fries, before giving Lovato a standing ovation.
