Anna and Josh Duggar's families are getting involved in the most recent Duggar scandal, which erupted on Thursday when Josh confessed to cheating on his wife Anna and having an addiction to pornography.

Before the Scandal: The Duggars' Rigid Rules for Dating and Marriage Have Always Been 'About Setting a Higher Standard'

For some, practicing what you preach isn't always as easy as it may seem.
In light of Josh Duggar's most recent scandal (the former family values counselor admitted on Thursday to having a porn addiction and cheating on his wife Anna following reports that he had used an infidelity website), his actions are completely at odds with the strict rules and values espoused by the Duggar family.
"I have been the biggest hypocrite ever," he wrote in a statement released on the family's website. "I am so ashamed of the double life I have been living."
One thing's for sure: He wasn't raised that way. Here's a look back at the strict dating and marriage rules his "stunned" parents Jim Bob and Michelle expected all of their kids to follow.

In difficult times, the Duggar family has one unbending rule: Look to God.
Amid a fresh disgrace for oldest son Josh Duggar, whose molestation scandal in May ultimately resulted in TLC pulling the plug on 19 Kids and Counting, parents Jim Bob and Michelle have stayed true to this very value, which they instilled in all of their children since birth.
"We have committed to Him that in all things – difficulties or success, good times or bad – we will purpose to bring Him honor by staying true to our faith and our family," the couple said in a statement regarding the cancellation that was posted on the family website.
It is no secret that the Duggars have centered their lives around their religious beliefs. The couple have created a conservative Christian belief system that has become the foundation for their approach everyday life. Despite what continues to be thrown their way, their faith remains the highest priority.
Duggar Family Edits Out Mention of Josh Duggar's Admitted 'Addiction' to Pornography from Mea Culpa Statement

Just as Josh Duggar has confessed to cheating on his wife Anna, signing up with the infidelity website Ashley Madison and developing an addiction to Internet pornography, the family has reposted the statement without the mention of the pornography addiction.
On the family's website Thursday, Josh issued a statement that read in part, "I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife."
About an hour after the initial post on Thursday, that portion of the statement had been revised to say, "I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have been unfaithful to my wife."
