Newly Single Deryck Whibley Hits Vegas

Less than a month after amicably splitting from wife Avril Lavigne, Deryck Whibley hit the town in Las Vegas Friday night.
The Sum 41 singer celebrated the 20th anniversary of The Mirage where he was spotted getting close with a new woman – model/designer Hanna Beth Merjos.
Following dinner at Stack – which Whibley and Merjos entered hand-in-hand – the pair then headed to the Slash and Friends show, which featured a performance by the Guns N' Roses guitarist, as well as Tommy Lee and Daughtry.
Whibley and Merjos were later spotted getting cozy at Jet Nightclub with friends until leaving just before 3 a.m.
A rep for Whibley tells PEOPLE: "Deryck is in Las Vegas celebrating a friend's opening with a group of his close friends, including his best friend Rob Dipple and Rob's girlfriend."

Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley seemed like the perfect rock couple. But at the age of 24, Lavigne began to see things differently, sources tell PEOPLE.
"She married too young and she finally realized that," says a source. "Avril realized she needs her own life and needs to explore things without him."
The couple – who married in 2006, when Lavigne was 21 – announced their split on Thursday after weeks of speculation of trouble in the marriage. "I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship," Lavigne wrote on her Web site.

Life's going to be a little less complicated for Avril Lavigne.
After months of facing rumors about trouble in their marriage, the pop star and husband Deryck Whibley announced Thursday that they are separating on good terms.
"Deryck and I have been together for 6-an-a-half years. We have been friends since I was 17, started dating when I was 19, and married when I was 21," Lavigne, 24, writes on her Web site. "I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship."
She adds: "I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him. He is the most amazing person I know and I love him with all my heart. Deryck and I are separating and moving forward on a positive note."

Looks like Avril Lavigne may not be getting "My Happy Ending" after all: Divorce rumors just won't stop for the singer and her husband Deryck Whibley.
New reports have surfaced that the couple, who have been married three years, have split. However, no divorce papers have surfaced and reps have not returned calls for comment.
Still, the couple have been living separate lives for some time. Last month, Lavigne, 24, and Whibley, 29, emerged together at a Beverly Hills supermarket. Despite having spent several days apart – she in New York and Texas and he in L.A. – they didn't seem thrilled to be reunited, according to an observer. "She seemed distant," the eyewitness told PEOPLE at the time.

Seated 20 rows back, the two rocked out for the night with some friends who accompanied them. "They were enjoying the show," says an onlooker. "They looked really cute together." The twosome slipped out right before the encore and headed in the backstage direction.
