She's done the dressed-like-a-guy thing. She's done the egg thing. She's even done the no-makeup thing.

But she hasn't done the Times Square ball-dropping thing – until now.

Getting a (very) early jump on its New Year's plans, ABC announced that Lady Gaga will perform in Times Square on the 40th anniversary version of Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2012.

Rockin' Eve will also feature performances from the West Coast, with Fergie once again hosting in Los Angeles.

Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve has revealed its top guests to PEOPLE, and they include La Roux, Ne-Yo and Natasha Bedingfield, in addition to Will and Jada Pinkett Smith's 10-year-old daughter.

Planning to take in the American Idol tour this summer (kicking off July 14 in Salt Lake City)? Don't look for panelist Randy Jackson in the seat next to you. "This season, the singers were better, but I don't think I could sit through a performance" of the tour, Jackson, 47, tells us. "Let me tell you why: That medley in the last show, with (the contestants) wearing those lemon tops and white bottoms. I felt like I was inside some weird Gap ad. I was like, 'God! What is happening to the show? Get me out of here!' That was crazy."
