Having a one-of-a-kind style isn't for everybody.
"People always say, 'Oh, she lives in another era,' " says burlesque dancer and fashion designer Dita Von Teese of the Hollywood home she's filled with antiques and vintage collectibles.
"But it's not true. I just love to be surrounded by things of glamour and beauty."
In fact for 25 years Von Teese (a self-proclaimed "aesthetic control freak") has painstakingly curated an array of curios: classic pinup art, rare burlesque memorabilia and ... stuffed birds?

Putting on a show for the Chateau!
Dita Von Teese stunned onlookers when she arrived at the Chateau Marmont Tuesday night exuding old Hollywood glamour in a chic blue dress.
Wearing her hair in a low bun, the model-actress-author was "glowing and hard to miss," says a source. "She was with a very large group of people at a table where everyone chatted quietly. She was smiling and laughing with the group but [Von Teese] was always very proper, sitting up straight and her demeanor was very polished."
While greeting other guests, Von Teese noticed Kelly Osbourne arriving. The two exchanged a brief hello before the Fashion Police host and her friends pulled up a table to join Von Teese's party.
Throughout the evening, Osbourne laughed and chatted with her group of friends. Osbourne and one girlfriend played endlessly with their cell phones and seemed fascinated at whatever popped up on their screens.
Osbourne later Tweeted about her night out with Von Teese and crew.

Dita Von Teese's cat Aleister has style – and he doesn't leave home without it.
"He has a Louis Vuitton carrier, which I had painted with my monogram," the burlesque star tells TheJetSetPets.com. "He's really smart and can unzip it. I have to watch him carefully. One time he popped out on the plane."
The Devon Rex, who is about 7 years old, often travels with his equally stylish owner, and has even been known to quietly lie on her lap during flights.
"He's always really been good with [traveling,]" she says. "[But] as soon as I open up his case, he wants to get out and explore."

It was all about the ladies for Elizabeth Banks on Thursday night.
The Hunger Games star took in a relaxing evening filled with fashion at an intimate Dannijo and Tucker Tea event at a private home in Beverly Hills.
Joined by pals Maria Menounos and Minnie Driver, the trio "sipped on wine and tried on jewels and clothing all throughout the night," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "Everyone was in good spirits. It was a very lighthearted, mellow evening."
Mandy Moore, Kathleen Robertson, Dita Von Teese, Whitney Port, Jordana Brewster and Judy Greer were also among the women in attendance who hung out poolside at the early evening fte.
This was a busy week for Driver, who just one day earlier, hosted an Olympics-themed private dinner event in Beverly Hills with Beefeater Gin, in honor of her British roots.
