Though she's now known for her provocative Tweets and controversial marriage to an actor 35 years her senior, Courtney Stodden was just a typical teen, newly unearthed photos show.
Stodden, an aspiring singer, married Lost actor Doug Hutchison in May, when she was 16 and he was 51.
In one high school photo, published by Britain's Daily Mail, Stodden, now 17, posed in a modest black sweater wearing her hair in a side ponytail.
It's a far cry from the blonde bombshell's current look, which consists of big hair, heavy makeup and barely-there outfits.

"At first, [the relationship] was just really about business," he said. "Totally innocent," she said.
It began through an e-mail correspondence when, at a time Stodden was looking to expand her career that her mother was managing, she learned that Hutchison was holding some acting workshops.

While it may be unusual, is marrying a 16-year-old who is 35 years your junior illegal? The short answer appears to be no – at least, not in Vegas.
Lost actor Doug Anthony Hutchison, 51, and aspiring singer Courtney Alexis Stodden, 16, caused a stir with the news that they wed in Las Vegas in May. But according to the marriage license page of the Clark County, Nevada website, it's pretty easy. Minor applicants who are 16 and 17 years old can obtain a marriage license with two things: An original or certified copy of their birth certificate, and a parent or legal guardian who will provide his or her consent.
