Drew Lachey will play host to some 50,000 fans expected flock into Times Square on Sept. 14 to kick off the new Broadway season that will find Katie Holmes, Daniel Radcliffe and Haley Joel Osment coming to the Great White Way.
The second-season Dancing with the Stars champ, currently appearing in the Tony-winning musical spoof Monty Python's Spamalot, will be joined by other stars for the free Broadway on Broadway 2008 concert, according to the event's organizers, the Broadway League and the Times Square Alliance, and its presenter, Continental Airlines.
"I am delighted to be a part of the Broadway community and I love this great city," Lachey, who previously costarred in the New York production of Rent, said in a statement. "I look forward to showing the Broadway fans from New York and around the world just what we have to offer."

Former Dancing with the Stars partners Drew Lachey and Cheryl Burke are denying tabloid reports that the pair were doing more than just dancing.
A report claiming the pair had an affair are "completely false and cannot be further from the truth," a rep for Lachey tells PEOPLE. A rep for Burke adds, "The story that Cheryl is involved with Drew Lachey started two years ago when they were partners on Dancing with the Stars. It wasn't true then and it isn't true now."
A source close to the show also called the report "untrue and irresponsible."

He won Dancing with the Stars 2 with Cheryl Burke, but Drew Lachey may soon have another partner to dip and twirl. "Isabella has these feet with arches already kind of developing," he says of his 2-month-old daughter. "She's already got dancer feet! I wouldn't be surprised if she follows in her mom and dad's footsteps."

After winning the second season of Dancing with the Stars, Drew Lachey got an even better prize a month later – on March 23, he and wife Lea welcomed baby Isabella Claire into the world. Now Lachey, 29, is keeping tempo around the house, changing diapers and snapping photos of his little girl. Tonight, though, he'll take a break from dad duty to co-host the Miss USA Pageant on NBC with Access Hollywood's Nancy O'Dell. PEOPLE caught up with the busy Lachey, who filled us in on adjusting to fatherhood and the new girl in his life.
