The photographers are all over LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian these days – but this time, they've invited them.
The tabloid targets have welcomed VH1's cameras into their Los Angeles house to shoot LeAnn & Eddie, giving the duo a chance to dispel misconceptions about their romance. The country singer and the actor (who most recently starred on TV Land's Hot in Cleveland) married in 2011.
"People are always wanting to make it a story of me being a homewrecker and trying to take someone's kids," Rimes, 31, tells PEOPLE. "They take the love I have for my family and twist it around in some weird, sick way."

With the holiday season in full swing, LeAnn Rimes tells PEOPLE husband Eddie Cibrian is already scoping out the perfect Christmas gift.
"He just asked me, 'What do you want? Don't you have an idea?' " the singer, 31, told PEOPLE on Wednesday. "He's such a guy, but I really don't have an idea … I'm more into the giving than I am in the getting."
Although she's admittedly tough to shop for, it sounds like Cibrian, 40, hasn't managed to disappoint yet in their four years together.
"I used to not at all like surprises, but now I kind of enjoy it, especially because he seems to always get it right," says Rimes, who's performing at the 82nd Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade on Sunday (airing nationally on Dec. 20). "He's definitely a guy's guy but he's got something else in there in him that definitely can choose a gift."

LeAnn Rimes and her husband Eddie Cibrian are headed back to the small screen – and ready to face their critics head on.
"We're doing a TV show based on our reality," Rimes, 30, tells PEOPLE. "We'll take things out of our lives and elaborate them and make them funny. People have been laughing at us – we want them to laugh with us!"
The couple, married since 2011, met on the set of Lifetime's Northern Lights in 2008, and gained public notoriety when they fell for each other and ended their respective marriages the following year.
"For some reason, everyone is so interested in our lives but they don't actually know about them," Rimes says. "What they read is what they see. We want to be able to take control of our lives again so we want to do a show about us, about our lives, but scripted."
