Dinner and dancing – that's what was on the agenda for Jessica Alba and husband Cash Warren – and they kept interesting company for their date night out. The new parents enjoyed a private meal at Mr. C Beverly Hills along with an eclectic array of people. Joining them: Jeremy Piven, Tara Reid, Elisabetta Canalis and Joe Jonas. According to a source, Jessica and Cash sat next to each other at the restaurant, and everyone at the table was in a great mood. After the invite-only dinner, the whole group headed to The Beverly afterward to continue the party, where the party shared another table – when they weren't hitting the dance floor.

Elisabetta Canalis, the Italian TV personality who dated George Clooney for two years until their split last June, offers some surprising details about their relationship in Questo Amore (This Love), a new book by Italian journalist Bruno Vespa.

Praising the Oscar winner, 50, as "the person who valued my feminine side the most" and "also one of the best people I have met from a charitable point of view," Canalis, 33, went on to say, "he has been a special for me, and very important, just as a father would be."

Asked by Vespa to elaborate, she said, "between us there was more of a father-daughter relationship. I was unable to clarify this up 'til now."

Elisabetta Canalis: Dancing Is Not My Thing

Elisabetta Canalis may face a language barrier while trying to communicate with her fellow Dancing with the Stars competitors. But when it comes to doing the fancy footwork, George Clooney's ex makes no excuses.

"Maybe dance is not my thing – I'm not going to lie," the Italian actress told PEOPLE backstage after being eliminated Tuesday night. "This show was challenging because I had to learn how to ballroom dance. I've never done it before. I hope to have learned something."

Canalis's pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy stands by his ballroom prótége.

"There are a lot of challenges for everybody," he said. "There were huge challenges for her. We're a proud nation. We're a welcoming nation, but [Americans] have our own idols and our own fan base. This show is about people who have huge fan bases. We can't compete with that."

George Clooney and Stacy Keibler a Good Match?

They met in 2006 at an Oscars party. George Clooney told her he'd seen her on Dancing with the Stars. The woman, Stacy Keibler, was flattered he knew who she was – and a bit confused.

"It's so funny," she told PEOPLE at the time. "George Clooney came up to me, and he was like, 'You're so great. You should win.' And I said, 'You watch Dancing with the Stars?' "

Now, five years later, the leggy blonde, who is also a former WWE star, is the subject of romance rumors swirling around the recently single, seasoned bachelor.

Clooney, 50, who announced his split from Italian TV host Elisabetta Canalis in June, has been clocking in time with Keibler, 31, a source tells PEOPLE.
