Ellen DeGeneres & Portia De Rossi 'Happily Married Without Children'
Originally posted 06/23/2009 04:45PM
Don't expect Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi to become moms anytime soon.
Although the couple told PEOPLE last August that they talk about having kids, they have decided that they are happier being cool aunts.
"I don't think we're going to have kids," DeGeneres tells AOL Television. "We have animals, and we love them. And, you know, we are brand new aunts. Her brother and his wife just had a baby girl who's a month old now, and it's fun to be a part of that."

Lindsay Lohan: Split with Samantha Caught Me By Surprise
Originally posted 04/22/2009 10:35PM
What's more difficult than enduring a painful breakup in the public eye?
"When you don't know you're breaking up," says Lindsay Lohan. "Really weird."
The 22-year-old actress shared her ordeal with somebody who knows all about a high-profile breakup: Ellen DeGeneres, whose split with Anne Heche in 2000 dominated celebrity news.
In an Ellen DeGeneres show airing Thursday, Lohan tells the talk show host that the breakup with Samantha Ronson, 31, earlier this month "came out of nowhere."
"I had no idea what was going on. I just hadn't seen her in, like, a week. She, like, disappeared," Lohan says.

Jennifer Love Hewitt Wowed by Friend Becoming 'Something More'
Originally posted 04/22/2009 11:45AM
Jennifer Love Hewitt isn't whispering about her affection for costar Jamie Kennedy – the Ghost Whisperer is loud and clear on Ellen Wednesday.
"We've been friends for a long time," Hewitt, 30, tells Ellen DeGeneres about her budding romance with Kennedy. "I've heard about it – about being friends with somebody and it turns into something else and I've never really done that before and it's been great. He's hilarious and when you're with somebody funny, they're always funny and it's just great."
Hewitt also talked about her "really painful" breakup last year with fiancé Ross McCall, 33, saying, "Look, break-ups are awful ... They really suck on lots of levels, but what I think is great about life is that the universe always brings you something really beautiful and great afterward and that's kind of where I am now."

Ellen DeGeneres, Portia De Rossi GLAAD to Be in Love
Originally posted 04/19/2009 11:10AM
With Emmys galore already to her name, Ellen DeGeneres can now add another trophy to her shelf – this one relevant to her personal life.
"Love comes in lots of different forms," said DeGeneres, 51, with her wife, Portia de Rossi, 36, standing beside her as the crowd cheered at Saturday's 20th annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles. "I am flabbergasted by the fact that we're still trying to fight," she added. "I am not trying to fight for gay rights – I am trying to fight for equal rights."
The TV host's award from the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation League, at the Nokia Theater, was for the 2008 episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show on which Ellen discussed her wedding day. Speaking onstage, DeGeneres said, "Portia, I love you."

Drew Barrymore Clears Up the Justin Long Mystery
Originally posted 04/17/2009 09:25AM
The only thing certain about Drew Barrymore and Justin Long – as far as they're being a couple – is that there's no question they're telegenic together. But that's not enough information for the ever-curious Ellen DeGeneres.
"You were a couple," the inquisitive TV host says to Barrymore on Friday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "Then you broke up, but you're together a lot now."
"We're good friends, and we're doing a film this summer," replies Barrymore, who herself notes, "and I think it's very confusing."

Portia de Rossi Still Not Ready for a Baby
Originally posted 03/16/2009 05:35PM
Portia de Rossi is a happy woman these days: She has a nice home, a wonderful wife – Ellen DeGeneres – and a big role on a new TV show, Better off Ted.
So what else is on her mind?
Not making babies, the Australian-born actress, 36, tells USA Today. "It's the same thing every single year – that I am trying to get pregnant," she says of rumors that she is planning to start a family with DeGeneres, 51, whom she wed last August at the couple's Los Angeles home. "And I'm not. Maybe one day I'll want to have kids, but it's not something we've talked about recently."

Dr. Phil, Leno, Ellen: Yes We Can!
Originally posted 02/26/2009 10:45AM
"Yes We Can" has taken on new meaning.
Some of the country's top talk show hosts are riffing off President Obama's campaign slogan with a campaign of their own in support of hard-hit local food banks.
Dr. Phil, Ellen DeGeneres, Bonnie Hunt, Jay Leno, Craig Ferguson and The Doctors are asking audience members at their shows to donate canned goods to help re-stock the L.A. Food Bank, as well as agencies nationwide affected by the economic downturn. The goal of the "Yes We Can" campaign: to collect 12,000 cans of food a week through April.
Ferguson joked, "I was ecstatic, as we often encourage audience members to leave all heavy, metal objects outside the stage." In the tradition of lounge comedy, he added, "audience members are still free to bring fresh food in to express their distaste for the comedy."

Jerry O'Connell Tries Out Breast Pump
Originally posted 02/13/2009 08:45AM
With their twin girls, Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tulip, born Dec. 28, Jerry O'Connell says his wife, Rebecca Romijn, is performing double duty in the breastfeeding department.
"I don't know why I'm getting nervous saying this," the proud – and jumpy – dad tells Ellen DeGeneres for Friday the 13th's The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
"I'm not saying anything dirty, it's natural but [Rebecca] does what we call the double football – which is just incredible, because it's like three beings attached," he says. "It's like something out of Cirque du Soleil. It's crazy."

John Mayer's All-Nighters with Jennifer Aniston
Originally posted 02/06/2009 10:45AM
While Jennifer Aniston went into coy mode when Ellen DeGeneres pressed her on the topic of John Mayer, the five-time Grammy winner himself was only too happy to discuss life and times with Aniston, in an interview to air Monday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
And neither he nor DeGeneres was particularly shy about certain private details.
"Do you sleep over?" the TV host asks bluntly.
"Yeah, there are sleepovers, yeah," Mayer replies, prompting a "Wow" out of DeGeneres.

Ellen & Portia's Biggest Marital Problem: Half-Finished Drinks
Originally posted 02/04/2009 11:40AM
Though Ellen DeGeneres is at a good place in her life, the TV host still dreams of greener pastures, saying in one of those humorous deadpan non-sequiturs of hers, "I like peace and I like houses."
Now, if she can just get her wife, Portia de Rossi, to clean up after her drinks.
Speaking to Ladies' Home Journal for its March issue on the day after Barack Obama was elected – and California voters put a knife into the heart of the state's same-sex marriage law – DeGeneres, 51, said that she felt her most beautiful on "the day I got married" to de Rossi in August 2008.
In fact, the recollection of that day (and the ramifications of California's Proposition 8) sent DeGeneres into tears – and running from the room.
