She's been embraced by Hollywood but Ellen Page says Tinseltown is still a tough place for a woman to work.
When asked if she ever encounters sexism, Page, 26, replied, "Oh my God, yeah! It's constant! It's how you're treated, it's how you're looked at, how you're expected to look in a photoshoot, it's how you're expected to shut up and not have an opinion," she told The Guardian in a recent interview.
Page, who currently stars alongside her close pal Alexander Skarsgard in The East, also says it's even more difficult for women who look a certain way.

Some appearances – sweet as they may be – can be deceiving.
After a cozy photograph of Ellen Page and her The East costar Alexander Skarsgard made the rounds on social media over the weekend – Tweeted out by the film's director, Zal Batmanglij, no less – speculation ramped up that the two were an item off-screen.
But, a source tells PEOPLE, the costars are just friends. And it isn't even clear how long ago the picture was taken.
The actress, however, liked it enough to re-Tweet: the photo shows the two dressed in matching denim outfits with Skarsgard's arm around Page, who seems to be lying in his lap. "Canadian tuxedo party," she wrote, referencing their denim on denim ensembles.

Alexander Skarsgard, Ellen Page, Patricia Clarkson and the cast of The East celebrated the film with a dinner at New York's Stanton Social on Monday.
The group of 15 people shared a feast of the restaurant's signature dishes that included red snapper tacos, potato and goat cheese pirogues, smoked duck and baby kale salad, wok charred edamame, beef carpaccio, spicy lamb souvalki, vegan spaghetti squash, shrimp and grits, grilled asparagus and herb dusted frites.

After a private Mediterranean cruise with 12 pals that sailed from Aug. 12 through 16 along the French Riviera, Leonardo DiCaprio got an early jump on Labor Day by going back to work Monday in Paris for his latest movie, Inception, directed by Dark Knight's Christopher Nolan and which started shooting in London last month.
Trade reports have described Inception as a contemporary sci-fi action thriller set within "the architecture of the mind." But for DiCaprio and his costars, La Vie En Rose Oscar winner Marion Cotillard and Juno Oscar nominee Ellen Page, the setting was one of the more recognizable bridges on the Seine.
The bridge itself – the Pont de Bir-Hakeim – is no stranger to the screen, having recently been seen in 2007's National Treasure 2. Steven Spielberg also used it and its above-ground Metro line and distinctive view of the Eiffel Tower in his 2005 Munich, while Marlon Brando walked across it in the groundbreaking 1973 Last Tango in Paris. Now it's DiCaprio's turn.

The stars were out in full force for MTV's movie awards – and they made sure to get in plugs for their upcoming projects.

And while Sarah Jessica Parker talked about the record-breaking weekend opening of her new movie Sex and the City, Brendan Fraser hijacked the microphone to plug The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor and Journey to the Center of the Earth.

Ellen Page may be one of Hollywood's youngest and hottest actresses, but the 21-year old sometimes is humbled by her star status.
Talking to the May issue of Teen Vogue, the Juno Oscar-nominee admits she's "insanely grateful" but sometimes can't believe the accolades – especially when they're coming from people she admires.
"The Barbara Walters interview, the Academy luncheon, meeting Sissy Spacek – there have been all these moments that it's really hard to wrap my head around," she says. "To be recognized with these women that I have so much respect for, it feels wrong, in a way. I'm insanely grateful, but its just like, 'Really? Are you sure?' "

Ellen Page took top honors at the Film Independent's Spirit Awards, winning best actress for her role in Juno, but Angelina Jolie's baby bump was the show stopper.
Page was up against Jolie's A Mighty Heart performance and took everything in stride.
"I'm just trying to go along with it, staying with a friend, having fun," Page told PEOPLE of Oscar weekend. "Just trying to remove myself in a way, and remember it's about film ... These nominations are a huge honor. It's exciting."
