Bones fans are about to get the happy ending they've been waiting eight years for – Dr. "Bones" Brennan and Seeley Booth are tying the knot in an episode airing on Fox on Oct. 21.
David Boreanaz, who plays FBI Special Agent Booth, tells PEOPLE that he was "excited and happy" when he and Emily Deschanel, 36, filmed the wedding scenes.
"I'm proud of the show getting to a place where we could really give back to the fans what they've been wanting for a while," he says. "It was a great moment for Emily and I to be in the shoes of the characters and go through that."

And baby makes three!
Bones star Emily Deschanel and her husband, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's David Hornsby, welcomed their first child Wednesday, a baby boy named Henry Hornsby, Deschanel's rep confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.
Deschanel, 34, and Hornsby were married in 2010. The actress maintained a vegan diet throughout her pregnancy.

She just went public with the news that she's pregnant, and Emily Deschanel has already gotten her first round of public congratulations from a very special celebrity: Her sister, Zooey.
"My big sister, Emily (aka bones) Deschanel and her husby, David Hornsby, are going to have a baby!" Zooey Tweeted Thursday. "I am super excited to be an aunt!"
Bones star Emily, 34, and her husband announced Thursday they are expecting their first child together. She is due later this year.

Emily Deschanel and husband David Hornsby are expecting their first child, her rep confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.
The actress, 34, and Hornsby, a writer-actor best known for his role as Rickety Cricket on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, met through friends and began dating in 2007. They were married in an intimate ceremony in L.A. last September.
Deschanel is due later this year.

Actress Emily Deschaneland writer-actor David Hornsby tied the knot in a quiet evening ceremony in front of family and friends in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles on Saturday, her rep confirms to PEOPLE.
The bride wore a pair of matching diamond and platinum scroll hair pins and drop earrings by Neil Lane.
Deschanel, 33, is currently starring in the sixth season of Bones, while Hornsby is best known for his work on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

It's been three and a half weeks since David Boreanaz and wife Jaime Bergman welcomed their second child, daughter Bardot Vita, and everyone is "happy and healthy," the Bones star tells PEOPLE's Celebrity Baby Blog. "It's all good."
Enjoying a short break at FOX’s Eco-Casino party on Monday, Boreanaz compared the transition into fatherhood to the situation his character of Seeley Booth is working through on Bones, calling it a "very interesting road ... looking at love, finding it and trying to apply it to somebody who really is special."
Costar Emily Deschanel added that the new dad was a little "nervous before the baby was born," but is now "just so happy. He’s excited to be a daddy again!" Calling baby Bardot "adorable," the actress reveals that the proud papa is "always showing pictures of her [on set]."
