As the soapy ABC hit wraps its second season with a two-hour finale Sunday night, PEOPLE chatted with the actor and former model, 40, about shooting the show's craziest scenes, the extent of his actual technical know-how, and which costar he'd like to transition to a spinoff with.

Josh Bowman prefers his girlfriend Emily VanCamp to be au naturel.
"When I take off my makeup, that's my boyfriend's favorite," the Revenge star, 26, tells Women's Health in its January/February issue of her Revenge costar and real-life beau, 24. "And that, to me, is a symbol of a great guy – someone who doesn't care about all that [glamorous] stuff."
VanCamp first realized this special quality her man possessed when she was on a fishing trip with him and his dad in England.

Sweet Revenge!
Emily VanCamp and her costar – and off-screen boyfriend – Josh Bowman attended the Mending Kids International Four Kings & An Ace Charity Poker event at West Hollywood hotspot The London on Saturday.
"Emily looked stunning in a nude and black cocktail dress while Josh complimented the outfit with a chic suit and tie," an onlooker at the event, sponsored by El Cartel Tequila, tells PEOPLE. "After laughing over their popcorn, the pair headed to one of the VIP rooms where the celebrity poker tournament was underway."
At the celebrity poker tournament – where player tickets were $10,000 a person! – Robert Downey Jr., Jodie Foster, Sean Penn, Mel Gibson and Gene Simmons played for a good cause.
Revenge cast members including Madeleine Stowe, Nick Wechsler, Gabriel Mann, Aiden Mathis, Margarita Levieva, Connor Paolo and Ashley Madekwe were also on hand to enjoy casino games and cocktails.

Revenge's Josh Bowman: People Shouldn't Care About My Personal Life

Josh Bowman is thrilled that fans tune in to watch him play Daniel Grayson on Revenge, which premiered its second season on Sunday night, but he thinks it's silly for people he doesn't know to care about him outside of the series.
"It's cool in a way, because people like the show and people like the people who play the characters and they have an interest in them," he told PEOPLE on Friday. "But I like a few shows, and I really don't care about the actors' private lives, because that's just sad. I really don't. I've got enough s– in my own life."
Bowman, 24 – who has been spotted getting cozy with his costar Emily VanCamp, 26 – says when people try to pry into his personal life, "I tell them to [expletive]-off because it's none of their business, and then it becomes less about the show and more about who I'm dating."

Fresh from dinner with friends, Revenge stars and real-life couple Emily VanCamp and Josh Bowman made their way to Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood for the West Coast launch of Carrera 6000 sunglasses.
"Emily seemed in good spirits as Josh playfully placed various shades on her face," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "His favorite seemed to be a pair of leopard sunglasses, which he said resembled 'the tiger' in her."
Of their earlier dinner date, the source overheard VanCamp say she cooked dinner for the group, but Bowman interjected to note that he "worked the grill."

Jennifer Jason Leigh Will Play Emily Thorne's Mom on Revenge

Emmy snub aside, there's exciting news for fans of ABC's Revenge: Jennifer Jason Leigh is joining the cast for the show's sophomore season.
Leigh, 50, who shot to fame in 1982's Fast Times at Ridgemont High, landed the recurring role of Emily Thorne's mother on the Hamptons-set melodrama, EW.com reports.
The role was teased in the show's May finale, when it was revealed that Emily VanCamp's character still had a very special family tie after all. (And this means the Hamptons's reigning queen Victoria Grayson, played by Madeleine Stowe, has some competition ... assuming she's still alive next season.)

Things are going swimmingly for Revenge costars Emily VanCamp and Josh Bowman!
While vacationing in Sydney, Australia, the on-and-offscreen couple cozied up to a famous resident of the city's Taronga Zoo.
"Meet Monroe the penguin!!" VanCamp Tweeted. The actress and Bowman also posed for a photo with Monroe, who happily worked his fins for the camera.

On Revenge, Emily VanCamp's character, Emily Thorne, is involved with a preppy, wealthy polo-player. But what's her real-life type?
"I'll tell you one thing I don't want," the actress tells Lucky for its June issue (out May 8). "A guy who sits around and plays video games and smokes pot."
VanCamp does reveal she's attracted to a paternal kind of guy. "I think women look for that quality in a man of being a good dad whether they're immediately wanting to be a parent or not," she says. "It's important to me that a man is good at taking care of people."

Revenge Star Christa Allen: Get Ready for 'Explosive Scenes'

Fans are not the only ones eager to find out what happens on Revenge – the stars of the juicy drama get just as excited.
"So much can happen in an episode. At this point I've resorted to flipping to the very last scene the minute I get the script to see where [my character Charlotte Grayson] is going to end up," actress Christa Allen told PEOPLE recently while on break from filming.
Allen admits the nature of the primetime soap opera means that any character could "fly off the handle and become the enemy of any other character," but she calls the cast a "family."
"I don't know how I would do it without them," she said. "Every single person on the cast just has so much love for one another."

In a promo during Sunday's Oscar telecast, Emily VanCamp's Revenge character teased, "I'm just getting started," but on Wednesday's episode (10 p.m. ET), it is her fiancé who is the center of attention.
In an exclusive PEOPLE sneak preview (see video above), newly-engaged Daniel Grayson (Josh Bowman) is interrogated about the shooting of con artist Tyler Barrol (Ashton Holmes) before he is released to his waiting parents and fiancée.
Daniel says he wishes to go home with VanCamp's Emily Thorne but not before requesting to speak to his mother Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) alone.
