According to J.K. Rowling, Hermione made the wrong choice: In an interview conducted by actress Emma Watson, the young-adult author admitted that she regretted pairing off the brainy mudblood with Ron Weasley, a goofy ginger, instead of heroic warrior of destiny Harry Potter.
"For reasons that have very little to do with literature and far more to do with me clinging to the plot as I first imagined it, Hermione ended up with Ron," Rowling said in the pages of British magazine Wonderland.
While we would hardly dispute an author's right to meddle with her work after publication, Rowling is, quite frankly, wrong.
