Three months ago, rumors swirled that actress Eva Longoria was dating Miami-based entrepreneur and philanthropist Ernesto Arguello. While it wasn't true at the time, it is indeed the case now, the actress tells PEOPLE exclusively.
"I think that's why our relationship is so special – we truly started as friends,” says Longoria, 38, who met Arguello, 34, last year when he was cast in Ready For Love, the reality dating show she produced. (Arguello's romance with his pick, former Miss USA Shandi Finnessey, ended in 2012.)
While the show aired this spring, buzz swept Hollywood that the two were an item. However, it wasn't until recently that their friendship turned romantic.

When she and Tony Parker divorced in 2011, Eva Longoria admitted that facing life as a single woman again was "very hard." But even she didn't know how much the breakup affected her.
"I didn't know I was depressed," the actress tells Dr. Oz on his talk show in an interview airing Friday. "I mean, I knew it was a sad moment in my life, but I wouldn't categorize myself as depressed. I'm not that, I'm an optimist about life. Life didn't work, moving on. I'm fine."
Meanwhile, the people around Longoria, 38, were telling her how well she looked. "That's probably the time I got the most compliments because I was so skinny. I was not eating. I was depressed. I was sad. My diet was coffee. So people kept saying, 'You look amazing. Divorce agrees with you,' " she says. "And I was like, I don't feel good. I have no energy."

Add Eva Longoria to the list of Hollywood's cat ladies.
While the former Desperate Housewives star is too busy to parent one right now, she tells PEOPLE, "I always found that I identified with them. Cats are feminine and independent and playful, much like a woman."
Her affinity for felines is why she's partnered with Sheba cat food to kick off the Feed Your Passion campaign, in which cat lovers are encouraged to visit the brand's website and share a photo of themselves and their pet, or a video of their greatest passion.
