Taylor Swift's Homecoming Night
Originally posted 09/13/2009 01:35PM
No danger of unrequited love here – the affection flowed both ways at Saturday night's hometown stop on Taylor Swift's Fearless tour.
After opening the show with her hit "You Belong With Me" wearing a high school band uniform that she ripped off to reveal a fringed silver and black mini, the country superstar known for chronicling heartbreak in song stood before the sell-out crowd at Nashville's Sommet Center with a hand on her heart and bathed in a cacophony of squeals and shrieks.
"I've been waiting to say this from Nashville, Tenn., for a very, very long time: welcome to the Fearless Tour 2009!" said Swift of her first visit to Nashville as a headlining act. "Thank you for teaching me that I'm not the only girl who burns her ex-boyfriends pictures ... and that I'm not the only person who still believes in love stories."

Inside the All-Star MusiCares Tribute to Neil Diamond
Originally posted 02/07/2009 02:00PM
The night was a tribute to Neil Diamond, but it was Jennifer Hudson's moving take on his 1969 hit "Holly Holy" that brought down the house.
Wearing a gold jacket and black satin pantsuit, Hudson – backed by three singers – was serious and soulful in her powerful performance, which drew cheers from the audience three times during the song, especially when she hit high notes with a lot of vibrato.
The Los Angeles Convention Center audience of more than 1,500 immediately rose to its feet in a standing ovation as she mouthed the words "thank you" and took a small bow. As she looked up and saw the entire room standing and clapping, a look of genuine surprise came over her face, and her mouth fell open. She again mouthed the words "thank you," and waved to the crowd in appreciation.

After the steak dinner, Hanks made sure to stop by the restaurant's open kitchen and give his compliments to the chef. Says the source: "Everyone was having such a great time; they were very upbeat."
