Paula Cook 'Humiliated' By Husband's Alleged Affair with Fantasia Barrino
Originally posted 08/14/2010 03:20PM
All Paula Cook wanted was to have a happy life with husband Antwaun and their children – but her husband's alleged affair with Fantasia Barrino ruined all that, according to Paula's attorney.
"She is saddened and disheartened by the end of her marriage," divorce attorney Tamela Wallace tells PEOPLE. "She's embarrassed, and humiliated and distressed by the lack of respect that was shown for her marriage by Ms. Barrino."
Pictures surfaced Friday of the American Idol season 3 winner meeting with Antwaun Cook in a local Charlotte, N.C., park – and being filmed by video cameras presumably for her VH1 reality show, Fantasia for Real.
"It's that kind of brazen behavior that Mrs. Cook has had to endure for the last 11 months, until June of this year," Wallace says. "This is something that has caused her emotional distress, pain, anguish."

Wife Threatens to Sue Fantasia for Alleged Affair
Originally posted 08/13/2010 01:00PM
She's "doing remarkably well" after her hospitalization, but now Fantasia Barrino may soon be facing another hurdle.
"[Paula Cook] has threatened via her lawyers to me to sue Fantasia," the singer's lawyer, Gena Morris, tells PEOPLE exclusively about the North Carolina woman who accuses Barrino of breaking up her marriage.
The law, which exists in seven states and allows a party to sue a "home wrecker" for alienation of affection and criminal conversation, is "a comical irony," says Morris, "because they arise out of laws when women were property of men."

The hospitalization came a day after the American Idol season 3 winner denied allegations she had broken up a North Carolina man's marriage.

Originally posted 08/12/2010 07:30AM
Two weeks ago, Antwaun Cook lived a low-profile life. A father of two sons, he managed a Charlotte, N.C., T-Mobile store and recently joined a local real estate office as an agent.
But one court document and a bitter separation later, he finds himself immersed in headlines as the man who began dating Fantasia Barrino – while he was still married.
The American Idol season 3 champ, 26, initially denied she had broken up Cook's marriage to his wife Paula but later confirmed she had been in an on-again, off-again relationship with him for 11 months.

Fantasia Barrino: I'm Not Responsible for Breaking Up a Marriage
Originally posted 08/09/2010 07:45PM
A North Carolina woman's claims that Fantasia Barrino's alleged affair with her husband caused the couple's divorce is not true, says the American Idol winner.
"Fantasia is certain that she is not responsible for the deterioration of [their] marriage," the singer's manager, Brian Dickens, said in a statement Monday.
Court documents filed last week by Paula Cook allege that her husband, Antwaun Cook, and Barrino began a "covert adulterous affair" in August 2009 and that the two made a sex tape.
