Indie chanteuse Lana Del Rey has been giving increasingly controversial interviews leading up to the release of her second album, Ultraviolence.
For starters, she declared feminism "not an interesting concept [for me]" in an interview with The Fader.
But it was recent comments she made to The Guardian that have the singer's name trending across the Internet; she told the U.K. paper, "I wish I was dead already," a statement that earned a response from one person who knows a little too much about musicians dying young: Kurt Cobain's daughter, Frances Bean. (The Guardian notes that Del Rey's statement was made during a discussion of Amy Winehouse and Kurt Cobain.)

It's a sad day for Frances Bean Cobain, who announced on Twitter Thursday that her French bulldog, Uncle Fester, had died.
"I am beyond devastated," she wrote. "I will miss his giant head and alien/gremlin personality & his big dumb dopey grin."
Explaining that the pup passed away during surgery while under anesthesia, Cobain, 20, continued, "Essentially he died in his sleep, which is all I could've asked for. I am greatful his suffering has ended & that he is somewhere peacful without pain."

"Not everyone in this life experiences genuine love from an animal, but I have from this cat," she wrote earlier this week.

Courtney Love is reaching out to her daughter Frances Bean Cobain – on Twitter.
Love previously angered her daughter by claiming on the social media site that Kurt Cobain's former bandmate Dave Grohl "hit on" Frances Bean, but now Love says she regrets spreading the rumor, which was denied by both Grohl and Frances.
"Bean, sorry I believed the gossip," Love tweeted early Saturday. "Mommy loves you."

Oh, mom, not again.
Frances Bean Cobain lashed out at her mother Courtney Love for claiming on Twitter than her late husband Kurt Cobain's bandmate Dave Grohl had "hit on" Frances and that "she was curious."
"While I'm generally silent on the affairs of my biological mother, her recent tirade has taken a gross turn," says Frances. "I have never been approached by Dave Grohl in more than a platonic way. I'm in a monogamous relationship and very happy."
Frances adds: "Twitter should ban my mother."

Though the couple went public with their engagement in October, little is known about the relationship between the daughter of the late grunge god Kurt Cobain, Frances Bean, and her fiancé, Isaiah Silva, frontman of rock band the Rambles.
"We're each other's everything," Silva, 26, tells PEOPLE about Cobain, 19, and himself. "We're homebodies. We don't go out to clubs so you won't find us stumbling out of them with Lindsay Lohan. We stay at home, read books and watch Arrested Development."
Adds band mate Mark Kuchel, "They're quiet and shy. They're a great couple. Frances comes to most of our shows that she can get into."

Is one of rock 'n' roll's most famous daughters ready to tie the knot?
Frances Bean Cobain, 19, the daughter of Courtney Love and the late Kurt Cobain, has been dating Isaiah Silva of L.A. band the Rambles for more than a year – and they may have taken the next step, reports the OC Weekly.
They each quietly changed their Facebook relationship status to engaged a few weeks ago, the paper says, and a source confirms their happy news of Cobain's engagement to PEOPLE. However, they have since changed their statuses back.
According to the report, the couple use fake names on Facebook – she goes by Frances Rachel Leigh Cook, he uses Isaiah David Berkowitz-Cusack. Screen shots of their Facebook pages also show comments that hint at an engagement.

With her soft, wistful expression and Old Hollywood glamour, Frances Bean Cobain's style is about as far as she can get from that of her parents, the late grunge rocker Kurt Cobain and her wild child mom, Courtney Love.
A new series of photos, taken by fine art photographer Rocky Schenck, captures the now-blonde 19-year-old alternating between sultry and sweet poses.
Cobain, an artist, also posed for some wildly different shots by Hedi Slimane that appeared earlier this month. In that set, she was a brunette shown smoking and covered in tattoos.

When Frances Cobain agreed to be a guest vocalist on pal Amanda Palmer's new concept album, headlines swirled that the 17-year-old daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love was following in her parents' musical footsteps.
Not so fast.
"She's got a great voice," Palmer says. "But she's a really good visual artist. She's really interested in graphic novels."
Cobain was intrigued by Palmer and fellow musician Jason Webley's concept for the album, Evelyn Evelyn, which focuses on twin singer-songwriter duo. Palmer was impressed with Cobain for more than her singing.
