Eva Longoria: Life's Too Short to Work with People I Don't Enjoy
Originally posted 09/13/2012 12:15PM
Eva Longoria has worked with a lot of big stars – and experience has made her picky about who she collaborates with in Hollywood.
"Life's so short," the actress, 37, told PEOPLE Monday. "You should be surrounded by people who make each other better people."
One of her favorite folks to work with, she says, is George Lopez, 51, who happens to be her co-host at the Latin community's ALMA Awards, airing Sept. 21.
"We're in a stage in our lives where we've done a lot in our careers and we work with people we want to work with," the former Desperate Housewives star says of herself and Lopez.

Sandra Bullock Is My Fairy Godmother, Says George Lopez
Originally posted 08/11/2011 09:15AM
George Lopez may be in transition again – his TBS talk show was canceled this week – but he knows he can always count on one close friend in particular: Sandra Bullock.
"If it wasn't for her involvement in me, or her belief in me, I would have had a very different last 10 years," Lopez, 50, told PEOPLE Wednesday at Dodger Stadium, where he threw out the first pitch to promote MasterCard's support of Stand Up 2 Cancer.
Lopez didn't speak about TBS's decision – Lopez Tonight will end its almost two-year run on Thursday – but he made it clear that without Bullock, he may never have made it to late night TV at all.

George Lopez Apologizes to Kirstie Alley for Pig Comment
Originally posted 03/25/2011 07:00PM
When it comes to George Lopez calling Kirstie Alley a pig, it sounds like the actress has the last laugh.
On Wednesday's Lopez Tonight the talk show host poked fun at Alley, saying she "did a nice job, her little hooves tapping away" on Dancing with the Stars. Lopez later apologized – but Alley was not so quick to forgive and forget.
First, Lopez Tweeted saying, "I misjudged the joke. No malice was intended and I apologize to Kirstie."
But Alley, 60, did some Tweeting of her own: "@GeorgeLopez I don't need or want ur apology," she wrote. "I want your kidney dude..on behalf of ur X and all the women uv insulted...give it back." (Lopez's wife, Ann, famously donated a kidney to her husband. The couple split five years later.)

Of Monday night's leader, Ralph Macchio, Lopez said, "He cut a mean rug, then took the rug that he cut and glued it to his head."

Inside George Lopez and Sandra Bullock's Friendship
Originally posted 04/10/2010 10:15AM
After news of alleged infidelity in Sandra Bullock's marriage surfaced, she retreated from the spotlight and turned to her innermost circle of friends – including George Lopez, who has been spotted visiting her home twice in recent weeks.
"Sandra Bullock completely gave me life," Lopez told PEOPLE in a 2006 interview.
Bullock was searching for Latino talent when she was introduced to Lopez, then a little-known comedian working the comedy circuit. Bullock drove an hour from Los Angeles to Orange County to catch his act. Two years later, she was the executive producer of his hit television show, George Lopez.
"From the time Sandy and I first laid eyes on each other, she has been nothing but a person of her word and embracing of me and my family," he said of Bullock, who often visited the set of his show, even making a few guest appearances. "We always trade off poses, like gang poses. It’s beautiful. I love her!" (The pair most recently traded poses when she appeared on Lopez’s late-night talk show Lopez Tonight earlier this year.)
