The Australia native blogged for PEOPLE.com about competing with Gilles Marini in the current all-star season. The pair was eliminated during Week 8. Murgatroyd has written her final post.

Elimination is always a little disappointing. Gilles [Marini] really wanted to win badly and he was a bit devastated that he got cut. But he's cool with it now. He's okay.

I don't think he expected it. He worked really hard and he's the type of person who believes if you work hard, you get results. But it's not always the case with this TV show. Everyone works hard and everyone was amazing. It was such a tough competition, and I believe we were very lucky to have gotten that far.

Although the ballroom pro was wiping away tears backstage after she and partner Gilles Marini were eliminated on Tuesday night's Dancing with the Stars, Murgatroyd, 26, is excited to spend time with boyfriend Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who was also eliminated alongside his partner, Kirstie Alley.

"We get to sleep in tomorrow morning probably, and go have breakfast, which we have not done for months," Murgatroyd told PEOPLE. "So, there's a plus side."

It was another week of double trouble on Dancing with the Stars.

Two all-star couples got the boot on Tuesday night, following Monday's Veteran's Day tribute.

Combining their scores from Monday and the previous elimination-free week, Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy were again in the bottom spot, just below Apolo Ohno and Karina Smirnoff.

Gilles Marini and Peta Murgatroyd were uncharacteristically in the bottom three.

It's week eight and we've got one more week until the semi-finals. This is when everyone really starts to get aches and pains and just gets lethargic.

Occasionally I'll have a glass of wine when I get home at night, but usually to unwind, I hop straight into bed. I'm exhausted. There's no time for going out and partying. All my energy lies in getting Gilles [Marini] to the finals.

I said before that I didn't think perfect 30s would come until closer to the end of the season, but I definitely wasn't surprised this week. Those dances were absolutely incredible, and the couples deserved those points.

Country week on Dancing with the Stars has featured more emotions than, well, a country song.

But neither the first perfect 30s for Apolo Ohno and Sabrina Bryan, nor the injury-rebound performances by Shawn Johnson and Melissa Rycroft on Monday night could compare to Tuesday's surprises, including a shocking elimination. Read on for more.

Dancing with the Stars: Who Got the Love on Country Night?

With performances by Little Big Town and Big & Rich, not to mention yards of denim and scores of cowboy hats, everybody was keeping it country on Dancing with the Stars on Monday night.

There was even a large fake cow on stage with a mirror ball hanging from its neck.

And for two couples, the range really did feel like home, with the judges handing out perfect scores twice during an emotional evening that left many competitors – and one judge – in tears.

Our group "Gangnam Style" dance was the highlight for all of us last week. It was ridiculous. Maks [Chmerkovskiy] was in charge of most of it. We had two big group rehearsals, and for the rest of it, we worked around our schedules on our own time. We had to come up with the concepts, but Maks gave us the towel theme.

Gilles Marini Sends Swooning Carrie Ann Inaba Out Of Her Seat

Originally posted 10/23/2012 10:20AM

Hunk to the rescue.

Hottie Gilles Marini, 36, knocked a judge right out of her seat – literally – on Monday's Dancing with the Stars. But luckily he was there to catch her fall.

The DWTS contestant's moves overtook judge Carrie Ann Inaba, and as she praised the French actor's sexy moves – "Let the baby making begin," she said – the excited judge, 44, suddenly slipped from her perch at the judges' table.

Proving chivalry (even on the dance floor) is not dead, Marini, partnered this season with pro Peta Murgatroyd, quickly swooped in to scoop her up Inaba in his tanned and chiseled arms.
