Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale and No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani met and fell in love when their bands toured together in the '90s.
On Saturday night, the married rockers reunited on stage to sing Bush's hit "Glycerine" for a surprised holiday-concert audience.
Rossdale, 47, usually performs the song by himself until the rest of Bush joins him toward the end, but at L.A. Radio station KROQ's 23rd Annual Almost Acoustic Christmas show at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, Calif., he was joined by an extra-special guest on the second verse: his wife.
"The place went crazy," an audience member told PEOPLE after the show. "They shared a quick kiss after the performance and Gwen exited the stage while Gavin and his band stayed to finish their set."

Gwen Stefani is taking a break from her work for a little (sandy) play.
On vacation in Palm Beach, Fla., the singer, 42 – who's gearing up to release her first No Doubt album following the band's 11-year hiatus – clocked in quality time with her family on the shore.
Stefani took a romantic stroll hand-in-hand, with husband Gavin Rossdale as Zuma, who turns 4 Aug. 21, frolicked in his Spider-Man-themed swim attire on Monday.

Wrapping up an all-day shoot with No Doubt on Thursday, Gwen Stefani concluded her night at Siren Studios in Hollywood with family.
Joined at the venue by hubby Gavin Rossdale and the couple's two kids, Zuma and Kingston, the clan checked out Steve Erle and Pete Black's Exposure 2 exhibit, hosted by Prévu sparkling liqueur.
"Gavin wouldn't start walking around without holding Gwen's hand," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "They couldn't have been sweeter. They were playing with their kids the entire time and [seemed] so doting. Kingston was embarrassed getting his photo taken. It was very cute. Zuma was laughing and his dad was holding him."
Meanwhile, Lauren Conrad made her new relationship with rocker William Tell public at the event, as the two were "walking around holding hands," the source says. "There was a long line [to get into the event] and the couple didn't [seem to] mind waiting in it. They were laughing the entire time and were so cute."

A casual Gwen Stefani checked out hubby Gavin Rossdale's set with his band, Bush, at KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas show at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, Calif. The pop star was sitting on the side of the stage in a chair next to another female, who sported a Santa hat, as the band barreled through "Machinehead." The ladies whispered to each other during the song, then headed backstage after it ended. After Bush's set, Rossdale hung out backstage, greeting fans and posing for pictures. – Jessica Wedemeyer

Look out Chris Evans – seems Zuma Rossdale is after your Captain America role!
Gwen Stefani's son turned 3 Sunday, but got his celebratory pampering kicked off on Friday with a trip to a nail salon in Studio City, Calif.
His mani-pedi color choice to complement his superhero costume: very patriotic red and blue.
We think the Captain would approve.
