With Linda Evangelista about to take the stand Monday for the second day, lawyers reached a settlement in the nasty child-support case between the supermodel and French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault, who's now married to Salma Hayek.

The terms of the surprise deal were not immediately known, according to the New York Post, which first reported the settlement. Outside the courthouse Monday, Francois-Henri Pinault's lawyer, David Aronson told reporters, "Everybody's glad for the sake and the benefit of the child that it's done."

A rep for Evangelista had no comment. After court Evangelista and Pinault, who had barely made eye contact during the trial, were seen talking to each other.

And the claims are flying.

The lawyer for supermodel Linda Evangelista, who is seeking $46,000 in monthly child-support payments for her 5-year-old son Augie with French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault, reportedly asserted in a Manhattan family courtroom Thursday that Pinault "suggested she terminate the pregnancy."

Speaking in court, Pinault – since 2009 the husband of Salma Hayek – said he was "not involved in the decision" to have the child, but assured Evangelista he would "recognize the baby," reports New York's Daily News.

His lawyer later denied the claim that Pinault suggested the pregnancy be terminated.

Just because Salma Hayek is married to a powerful businessman doesn't mean she's given up her independence.

"I work hard, I make my own living and I love it. I like having financial independence," Hayek says in the November issue of Redbook. "I don't ever want to have to depend on anyone completely. But when I have troubles sometimes, it's nice to have someone there to help."

Luckily, Hayek can rely on her husband, French billionaire François-Henri Pinault, if need be. Has being married to the CEO of luxury goods firm PPR (which owns Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent) influenced her style?

"I like to play fashion with him, but I'm nobody's Barbie," Hayek, 45, says.

Salma Hayek's Husband, François-Henri Pinault, Is the Father of Linda Evangelista's Son

Salma Hayek's daughter, Valentina Paloma Pinault, 3, has a second half-brother.

According to court papers recently filed by supermodel Linda Evangelista, her son, Augustin James, 4, was fathered by Hayek's husband, François-Henri Pinault. Hayek and Pinault wed in 2009, but dated since 2006, around the time Evangelista got pregnant. (Pinault has two other children – a son and a daughter – from his previous marriage, which ended in divorce in 2004.)

Now Evangelista has filed a petition seeking support from the French businessman, 49.

"In the filing, it says the child 'was born out of wedlock to [petitioner] Linda Evangelista, 46, and that [Pinault] acknowledged [her] allegation,' " a source familiar with the filing tells PEOPLE. "It says, 'It is decided that Pinault is the father of [Evangelista's son], Augustin James.' "

Later at the elegant reception, Hayek, Theron and Harrelson joined Bono and Damien Rice on stage for a rendition of something bouncy: "Stand By Me."

Salma Hayek finally got her fairytale wedding.

The actress and her husband, French billionaire François-Henri Pinault, tied the knot – for the second time – Saturday in a star-studded ceremony in Venice, Italy, PEOPLE has confirmed. They originally got married in a civil ceremony at the 6th Arrondisement City Hall in Paris on Valentine's Day.

This time around, Hayek, 42, went all out. She wore a Balenciaga wedding gown by Nicolas Ghesquiere as she exchanged vows with Pinault, 46, at Venice's opera house La Fenice. The bride, who wore her hair in a bun with a long veil, held a bouquet of orchids and stephanotis with crystals.

The couple's daughter, Valentina Paloma, 19 months, was a flower girl, along with Francois-Henri's son and daughter from his first marriage, Francois, 10 and Mathilde, 8. Valentina wore a dress by Bonpoint for the ceremony, which started around 7 p.m. At one point in the ceremony, the guests sang "Over the Rainbow."

About 150 friends and family members were in attendance, including Penélope Cruz, Edward Norton, Woody Harrelson, Olivier Martinez, Luis Miguel, Ashley Judd, Charlize Theron, Stuart Townsend, Bono, Gael García Bernal, Enrique Murciano, David Blaine, Ziyi Zhang, Anna Wintour and former French President Jacques Chirac. The wedding was a black tie affair. Guests wore black and gold masks as they arrived for the nuptials.
