Superman has found his Lois Lane.
Henry Cavill and Kaley Cuoco are a new couple, PEOPLE has learned.
"They were both single and started dating recently," says a source close to the Man of Steel star and Big Bang Theory actress.
While Cuoco, 27, and Cavill, who split from his girlfriend, Fast & Furious 6 star Gina Carano, in early May, have yet to step out publicly, they're enjoying getting to know each other.
"It's just the beginning stages of a relationship and they're having a great time," says the source.

You don't become Superman overnight.
"It's a very, very long and involved process," Henry Cavill told PEOPLE at Monday's Man of Steel premiere in New York – the movie opened nationwide Friday – about his exhausting physical transformation from human to superhuman.
It went in stages. And all of them were painful.
"Five months before shooting there was varying stuff which ended up being mass building and then leaning down," said the actor, 30. "Throughout the shoot it was just waking up and making sure I got an hour in [of exercise] before I went to work."

Superman, buying his outfit in an XL?
"I was fat," says Henry Cavill, the star of the new Man of Steel, the latest big-screen take on Superman (out June 14), says about his childhood. "I was Fat Cavill."
A native of Jersey in the English Channel – and a veteran of Showtime's The Tudors, on which he played Charles Brandon, Duke of Suffolk – Cavill now stands on the brink of stardom in his tight Superman outfit.
But it wasn't always so, the 30-year-old tells Details for its June/July issue.

Sure it's the Most Beautiful Woman issue, but we had to give some of our favorite guys love (including current Sexiest Man Alive Channing Tatum) so we asked them: "What have you learned to love about yourself?" Here's how they responded:
"Other than my ears? I mean, I finally grew into them ... My sense of humor. Laughter is the greatest thing going."

E L James may be a self-professed "control freak" about the process of bringing her erotic trilogy to movie theaters. But the author may want to take note of her rabid fan base – and just which actor they envision on the big screen.
The not-safe-for-work novel Fifty Shades of Grey is sitting pretty atop multiple best-seller lists, and women everywhere are talking about its protagonist, Anastasia Steele, and her troubled, controlling man, 27-year-old multi-millionaire Christian Grey. And after a Da Vinci Code-esque bidding war, Universal Studios and Focus Features came out on top and will release the film adaptation.
While Christian Bale (circa American Psycho) and Michael Fassbender (of Shame fame) immediately come to mind (as do Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, for obvious reasons), PEOPLE.com readers – and our staff! – also had plenty of suggestions.
Which actor could best embody the young and "very attractive," tall, finely dressed character with "unruly dark-copper-colored hair and intense, bright gray eyes"?

The Man of Steel himself – Henry Cavill – dined at Gladstones in Malibu with his family. The group of eight stuck around until sunset for a celebratory meal, a source says. As for the newly-engaged actor, he avoided any alcoholic beverages, though others at the table ordered Belvedere Bloody Marys. For his dinner, Cavill ordered the macadamia rock shrimp, as well as fish and chips and a cappuccino. – Dahvi Shira

It's a bird, it's a plane – it's the new Superman!
Henry Cavill will be taking over the role the late Christopher Reeve made famous in the upcoming film Man of Steel, and with his dashing good looks and rock-hard body, The Tudors star looks the part in the iconic blue suit and red cape.
The comic book reboot, which is expected in theaters in 2013, also stars Amy Adams as Lois Lane, as well as Russell Crowe, Diane Lane and Kevin Costner.
