It's not for everyone.
Unlike the newest Bachelor couple, Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici – who are saving sex for their wedding night – Ashley Hebert and her Bachelorette-winner hubby, J.P. Rosenbaum, didn't wait for marriage.
"I don't even know where to go with that one," Rosenbaum tells PEOPLE with a laugh on Thursday, when asked his thoughts on the topic. "It's a belief and we don't share it."

Monica Rizzo, a senior writer for PEOPLE who has been covering TV for 14 years, attended Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum's wedding this month. Here, she shares some of what you won't see this Sunday when The Bachelorette: Ashley and J.P.'s Wedding airs on ABC.
It was four years ago that I first started covering The Bachelor and The Bachelorette for PEOPLE. If someone had told me then that one day I would be quiver-lipped and sniffling as I watched two reality stars get married while the cameras rolled for a TV special, I would have rolled my eyes.
No, not me. Never.
But alas, that was me on Dec. 1, in the third row, beaming and tearing up as I watched Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum, whom she chose at the end of her season on The Bachelorette, exchange vows in front of 200 guests at the Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena, Calif.

Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum's wedding was picture perfect.
In an exclusive shot from the couple's weekend nuptials, the newlyweds – who met on season 7 of The Bachelorette and got engaged on the season finale – beam with joy.
Hebert, 28, and Rosenbaum, 35, say that even though their wedding was filmed for TV (it will air Dec. 16 as a two-hour special on ABC) their love is as genuine as it comes.
"The ceremony was simple, sweet and personal," Hebert tells PEOPLE in its new issue, on newsstands Friday. Adds Rosenbaum, "We didn't want it to be a circus."

It’s official: Bachelorette star Ashley Hebert and her fiancé J.P. Rosenbaum tied the knot Saturday afternoon in Pasadena, Calif.
Surrounded by family, friends and fellow Bachelor and Bachelorette alumni like Ali Fedotowsky, Emily Maynard, and Jason and Molly Mesnick, the couple said "I do" in an outdoor ceremony officiated by franchise host Chris Harrison.
"Today is all about our friends and family," Hebert, whose nuptials will air Dec. 16 on a two-hour special on ABC, tells PEOPLE. "It's about standing with J.P., looking around at all the people we love in the same room there to celebrate our love."

A year after their road to romance played out on television, The Bachelorette alumni Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum celebrated a year together over Memorial Day weekend.
The couple jetted off to ME Cancun, a Mexican resort, where they hit the pool, sipped champagne and frozen cocktails, and partied with fellow resort goers to in-house disc jockeys DJ Ani Quinn and DJ Price.
Hebert and Rosenbaum, who hope to marry soon, seemed happier than ever as they kicked back under a palapa cabana, ate chips and guacamole and took playful pictures of each other on their iPhones.

While it's been a road of ups and downs for Courtney Robertson and her Bachelor fiancé Ben Flanjik, former Bachelorette Ashley Hebert and her love
J.P. Rosenbaum have been on a more consistent path.
"We are starting [wedding] planning and hoping to get married within a year," Hebert told viewers when she and her fiancé appeared at the end of Monday's The Bachelor: After the Final Rose show. "I always thought it would be romantic to be pregnant and get married."
"We talk about it all the time," adds Rosenbaum. "We're getting more serious about it."

On the current season of The Bachelor Courtney Robertson has emerged as the finalist everyone loves to hate.
But at least one person (other than Bachelor Ben Flajnik himself) isn't completely writing her off. Former Bachelorette star Ashley Hebert sympathizes with Robertson – at least in part – due to her own experience on the show.
"I feel like when my season was airing I got a lot of [flack]," Hebert, 27, told PEOPLE at the KIIS-FM Purse Party in Santa Monica on Monday. "So I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt."
