Miami Heat: Which Stars Will Clamor for Courtside Seats?
Originally posted 07/09/2010 04:00PM
With basketball big shots Lebron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh teaming up in Miami, fans can expect the games to pack a lot of heat. But it's not just the players that are bringing the sizzle.
Like the Los Angeles Lakers games on the West coast, Miami Heat games are star-studded events, known to bring out celebs like Kim Kardashian, Celine Dion and Beyoncé Knowles to courtside seats.
Plan on attending a Heat game? You may be sitting on the sidelines with J.Lo and Marc Anthony, who own a waterfront condo in Miami. Floridian Jimmy Buffett never misses a game – or a move – and he often gets floor seats, which makes him just as fanatical as Jack Nicholson at a Lakers game.

INSIDE STORY: How Stars Score Prime Lakers Tickets
Originally posted 05/28/2009 12:00PM
A studio executive could open a summer's worth of blockbusters with the celebrities sitting court side at a single L.A. Lakers' playoff game.
Just how do Hollywood's finest manage to get those prime locations court side and in the lower bowl? Some buy in bulk – Lakers' season ticket holders include Jack Nicholson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Dustin Hoffman, Penny Marshall, Dyan Cannon and Glenn Frey, to name a few. But that's not the only way to get a foot on the floor. "The main way most of the celebrities get in are through seats given to them by studios, record companies, major talent agencies and production companies," says Lakers' spokesman John Black. "On a
given night, we may have 40 celebrities here but I may only be aware of five of them myself."

All the star power in the world couldn't keep the Lakers from blowing a 24-point lead in their devastating loss to the Boston Celtics Thursday night at L.A.'s Staples Center.
"Good for Boston," Will Smith graciously conceded to PEOPLE after the Celtics' 97-91 win. He was followed to the exits by a grim-faced Jack Nicholson, a dejected Penny Marshall and disconsolate Justin Timberlake.
But the crowd – which included L.A. supporters Denzel Washington, Tobey McGuire, David Beckham, Nicky Hilton, Ryan Seacrest, Randy Jackson, Dustin Hoffman and Fergie – did contain a few Boston fans.

Jack Nicholson Backs Hillary, Scarlett Sings for Obama
Originally posted 02/04/2008 12:50PM
As that "great determinator" Super Tuesday quickly draws near, some new high-powered celebrity endorsements – as well as additional bolstering by loyal top-name supporters – are adding further rhetoric to the race.
Among the latest names to rally 'round a hopeful is Jack Nicholson, who on Monday revealed his support of Democrat Hillary Clinton on the Rick Dees in the Morning Show on Los Angeles's Movin' 93.9 FM.
Nicholson's move, which puts him in the same league as longtime Clinton boosters Barbra Streisand and Danny DeVito, follows Sunday's appearance by Oprah Winfrey at a Los Angeles rally for Barack Obama. (Also over the weekend, celebs including Scarlett Johansson lent their singing voices to "Yes, We Can," a YouTube music video, shown below, supporting Obama.)
