An Ohio socialite who vied for Jake Pavelka's heart on season 14 of The Bachelor has died after an apparent suicide attempt – which marks the second time a contestant from that year killed herself.
On Saturday, Alexa "Lex" McAllister was taken to Grant Medical Center in Columbus in stable condition after someone who received a text in which she threatened to kill herself called 911, according to a police record obtained by PEOPLE.
The caller checked on McAllister at her home, where empty prescription bottles were found. The report states that Mcallister regained consciousness but "was unable to state to medics what kind of medication she took."

Donna Micheletti's voice choked with tears as she told Dr. Phil McGraw about her daughter Gia Allemand's final moments as she tried to commit suicide on Aug. 12.
In the heartbreaking interview set to air on Dr. Phil on Tuesday, Micheletti revealed she was on the phone with her daughter, 29, as she hanged herself in her New Orleans apartment.
Micheletti believes that the Bachelor star called her because "I'm the closest person in the world to her and she didn't want to be alone when she left this world. So she wanted Mommy to be there, I guess."

Donna Micheletti, mother of Gia Allemand, issued an official statement Friday morning to set the record straight about theories and remarks that have come out about her late daughter.
Released through a media representative, Micheletti's statement said, "The family and close friends of Gia Allemand have not spoken to the media to date, nor have they posted comments or insight on Twitter. There are numerous statements and theories in the media regarding Gia's death and her life that refer to sources close to Gia or friends of hers."

The death of Gia Allemand, who competed for Jake Pavelka's heart on season 14 of The Bachelor shocked those who knew her – particularly fellow contestants from the reality love show, as well as the very bachelor whose heart she was hoping to win.
The 29-year-old was found Monday night in her New Orleans home by her boyfriend, NBA player Ryan Anderson.
Following her death, her family members praised Allemand in a statement, saying, "Loved ones and fans will remember Gia Allemand as a caring woman who loved her family and was well-known for her compassion towards animals and mission to rescue homeless pets."

Jake Pavelka had to pull his car over to the side of the road because he couldn't stop crying when he learned castmate Gia Allemand had died.
Allemand, who was taken off life support Wednesday after an apparent suicide attempt, was "an angel," he tells PEOPLE.
"I am in complete shock and devastated to hear the news about Gia," says Pavelka, who romanced Allemand, 29, on season 14 of The Bachelor. "She was one of the sweetest people I have ever known. And a very dear friend. My heart goes out to her family during this very difficult time. We have lost an angel today."
