No stunt doubles here!
James McAvoy fearlessly flipped over the hood of a taxi while filming The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby in New York City Friday.
In the scene, the Scottish actor, 33, has an explosive fight with on-screen wife, Jessica Chastain. After their argument, McAvoy is hit by a passing taxi.

What Courtney Love wants, Courtney Love gets.
Contrary to reports suggesting the rocker was interested in Robert Pattinson playing her late-husband Kurt Cobain in a planned biopic, Love now says she never planned to enlist the Brit.
"Isn't that so stupid, who would cast him? That's just wrong," Love told The Canadian Press. "No offense." Softening her position a bit, the Hole frontwoman later Tweeted: "HEY I LIKE R PATZ HES JUST NOT RIGHT FOR KC!"
So, who would Courtney love to play Cobain? She nominated Ryan Gosling or James McAvoy for the role.

James McAvoy is poised for first-time fatherhood. The Atonement and Wanted star, 30, is expecting a baby with wife Anne-Marie Duff.
"We are happy to confirm that James McAvoy and Anne-Marie Duff are expecting their first child," rep Rupert Fowler said in a statement. "We have no further comment or information at this time."
Married since October 2006 to Duff, 39, who is best known for her role in the British television drama Shameless, McAvoy and his wife are currently costarring in The Last Station with Helen Mirren.
Next up for the actor? A role in Robert Redford's The Conspirator.

James McAvoy knows he's not the average action hero, but confesses his desire to play Die Hard-like roles.
"I think inside all actors, there's a kid who secretly yearns to jump off buildings and say 'Yippeekayay, motherf-----!'" the Wanted star, says in the August cover story of Details. "I also thought that the fact that they were willing to cast someone like me [in Wanted] showed a willingness to step outside the usual action-movie realm."
Not that the Atonement actor lives a particularly action-packed real life. The Scotsman, 29, admits he's lived a quiet lifestyle throughout his 20s.

Making love to Keira Knightley – which Scottish actor James McAvoy does in Atonement – is nice work if you can get it, but there are rules.
"We talked a lot beforehand, so we had it figured out what we were going to do, what bits are we going to feel, and what bits are we not going to feel," McAvoy, 28, told PEOPLE at the Chanel and Cinema Society premiere of the 1930s period drama, held Monday in New York.
Any tips for doing a sex scene? "Breath mints," he advises. "Don't have a lot of garlic. Don't have a salmon-and-cucumber sandwich beforehand."

New York's Beatrice Inn was doubly hot on Sunday night as Topher Grace and
Atonement star James McAvoy stopped through separately, and then ended up at adjacent tables. There with a group, McAvoy and his pals took a table for two – then pulled up two extra chairs as they continued chatting. More laid back at the neighboring table, the former That '70s Show star played it cool by himself before moving to the main room, where he was surrounded by people for the rest of the night.
