Wildfires Threaten Tori and Dean's B&B

The raging wildfires in Southern California are threatening thousands of homes: among them, Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott's newly renovated bed and breakfast, Chateau La Rue, in Fallbrook, Calif., about 100 miles southeast of Los Angeles.
Spelling and Dean were in L.A. on Monday at ABC's filming of Dancing with the Stars, supporting Spelling's former 90210 castmate Jennie Garth. But their thoughts were elsewhere.

Ashlee Simpson Sweats for Real

There's no way to lip-synch your way through a workout – especially one led by Tae-Bo guru Billy Blanks. So you know when Ashlee Simpson brought a few friends to Blanks's L.A. studio recently to film an episode of The Ashlee Simpson Show, it was the real deal. "They all did the workout all the way through," Blanks tells us of Simpson and her crew, who did his new "Boot Camp" routine. "Some of them were a little uncoordinated, but they all stuck it out. It was awesome – we had a good time." Blanks noted that because Simpson and her friends are young and stay in shape through dancing, "I think they didn't think it would be so hard. It was a test for them, and they all passed – but it was a challenge. Ashlee said, 'Wow, I have to start working out.' " Blanks's "Boot Camp" workout will be available via infomercial in January; his session with Simpson will air in the second season of her MTV show, due early next year.

Gwyneth Paltrow: Always a Mommy

Gwyneth Paltrow took a night off from parenting duties to attend the London premiere of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow on Sunday, looking glamorous in a Vivienne Westwood dress and Christian Leboutin shoes. Along with the adoration of the crowd, Paltrow received "a lovely bunch of flowers" from costar Jude Law in honor of her 32nd birthday the following day. Even though 4-month-old daughter Apple and hubby Chris Martin stayed at home, the actress quickly began talking about being a mom. In terms of bonding with her baby: "I spend as much time with her as possible, and sing to her," said Paltrow, adding that she never sings Martin's songs to her daughter: "Oh no. I'm not that cheesy." Next up for Paltrow: Proof, with Anthony Hopkins and Jake Gyllenhaal, due in December.
