Janet Jackson is off the market!
The singer, 46, and Qatari businessman, Wissam Al Mana, tied the knot last year, the couple's rep confirmed to PEOPLE on Monday.
"The rumours regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true," they told ETOnline, which broke the official wedding news. "Last year we were married in a quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony."

Forget Paris Jackson's ultra-famous father – or her equally famous family, for that matter. The teenager wants to be taken on her terms.
"I love my dad, and I'm proud to be his daughter," Jackson, 14, tells Glamour for its October issue. "I just don't think the title 'M.J.'s daughter' fits me."
Jackson maintains an active Twitter presence, and has already booked her first movie role – in the upcoming film Lundon's Bridge and the Three Keys.

Jackson Family Drama: Police Called After 'Altercation'

Just days after matriarch Katherine Jackson was reported missing – and then located in Arizona – the Jackson family seems to be facing more drama after police were called to the family home on Monday.
The L.A. Sheriff's department responded to a family disturbance call at Katherine's home on Monday afternoon after Janet, Randy and Jermaine Jackson reportedly tried to take Michael Jackson's children Prince, Paris and Blanket from the compound.
"Deputies determined that a physical altercation had occurred of misdemeanor battery," said L.A. Sheriff spokesman Steve Whitmore. "It involved members of the Jackson family. A report was taken. No arrests were made, and the investigation is ongoing."
Whitmore confirmed that the altercation involved "two people," although he did not specify which two. He did add, "If we thought an arrest should have been made, we would have made it."

After years of yo-yo dieting, Janet Jackson is finally at the size she wants to be. Just don't ask her how many pounds she's dropped.
"I don't know how much weight I've lost, only because I stay away from the scale," Jackson told PEOPLE at Marco Glavianos "Supermodels" exhibit in New York recently.
"I don't think [stepping on the scale] is healthy. You're setting yourself up to fail and women's bodies fluctuate every month – certain time of the month in particular – we bloat a great deal," she says.

Less than a week after Janet Jackson sparked speculation that she may be joining The X Factor as a judge, Britney Spears is now the subject of casting buzz.
"Are we flattered that there could be interest? Yes," Simon Cowell told reporters on a conference call Wednesday, but wouldn't discuss what he thinks Spears would bring to the show as a judge. "I've learned a big lesson: keep your mouth shut. Don't give it all away."

Janet Jackson knows what it's like to lose a loved one, and now she's offering some advice to Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina on how to deal with the grief over her mother's death.
"You have to come to terms at some point. You have to actually give it up to God," says Jackson, who still mourns the loss of her brother, Michael Jackson. "It sounds so mean, but you have to move on. You can't hold onto that because it can be very devastating."
Jackson, who spoke to Anderson Cooper for an interview airing Monday on his talk show, adds, "Sometimes therapy is the best thing."
