Celeb Marriage Proposals: How Do Stars Pop the Question?
Originally posted 06/25/2009 06:30AM
On screen, Ryan Reynolds had no choice but to put a ring on it (Sandra Bullock coerced him!) in The Proposal. But for these stars in their off-screen lives, no charades were involved – and in one case no ring, either – when the big question was popped … just a nude beach and a sports car to help set the mood.
Jason Biggs, married to Jenny Mollen: "I proposed twice. I proposed once spontaneously – I didn't even have a ring. I used an earring. We were in St. Martin. I just bought her these earrings and I took one out of her ear and proposed to her with it. And then I got a ring and did a more formal proposal on Valentine's Day in Big Sur. It was really cool."
Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, married to Michael Nilon: "We broke up for three months. I went to a movie premiere and he [was there], hoping he would see me and I was hoping I would see him. At the end of the night we didn't see each other and I thought he left but he was waiting for me. He came up to me and asked, "Will you marry me?" And I was like, Yes!"

Encore! Encore! After Jason Biggs eloped with actress Jenny Mollen in a "very private ceremony" in April, the two are now planning to exchange vows again – this time, in front of family and friends, his American Pie costar Alyson Hannigan tells PEOPLE.
"They're going to have a proper wedding in Napa," Hannigan revealed at a New York screening of her hit CBS show How I Met Your Mother. "I have my invitation, but I don't know if it's going to work out, traveling-wise. I have to figure out the dates."
Still, she says, "Hopefully I'll get to go to the wedding and really celebrate then."

Jason Biggs: Kate Hudson's 'Funny ... for a Girl'
Originally posted 04/09/2008 11:00AM
Kate Hudson is a comedy pro, according to one of her upcoming costars. "I had a lot of scenes with her, and she was really funny," Jason Biggs told PEOPLE at Tuesday's Recording Academy Up Close & Personal with Mel Brooks, in Santa Monica. (Biggs plays Hudson's ex-boyfriend in this fall's My Best Friend's Girl, costarring Dane Cook.)
"I think there is a dearth of really funny, pretty leading ladies out
there," Biggs, 29, says, joking, "I think it was pretty clear from the
beginning that I was the funnier of the two. She didn't really try to
[upstage me]. But she's funny ... for a girl."
The American Pie actor attended Tuesday's event with actress Jenny Mollen, his fiancée since announcing their engagement in January. Mollen, 28, and Biggs's wedding will be this July, according to the couple, after they scrapped plans to elope.
