PEOPLE turns 40 this year, and we have to say, it's looking pretty good for having four decades in the spotlight. Just like any other cultural institution (the White House; The Peach Pit), the magazine has made more than a few appearances in TV and movies. Let's look at some of our favorites.

Jeff Goldblum was snapped hanging close with quirky British chanteuse Imogen Heap – of "Hide and Seek" fame – in London's Hyde Park. But as matches go, this one may just be perfect. Both Heap and Goldblum are known for their particular eccentricities. Goldblum is an expert at unique, unsettling line readings, while Heap’s been called out for her out-there style.
