Jeff Gordon's Littlest Cheerleader: Daughter Ella!

NASCAR star Jeff Gordon’s daughter Ella Sofia, who turned 2 in June, isn’t sure what her daddy does at the track, but she recognizes that his work involves sitting behind the wheel.
"She knows that I have a race car for work and when she sees [one] at the track she says, 'Go papa go!' " Gordon, 38, told PEOPLE's Celebrity Baby Blog late last week at The Glen in Watkins Glen, N.Y., where he was preparing to race in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
Ella planned to be on the sidelines "cheering him on" during Monday's race, after being rained out Sunday.

Nascar's Jeff Gordon knows how to celebrate being No. 1 – and in daughter Ella Sofia's case, turning 1.
"We had a puppet show for the kids and a one-man band, so she did some dancing. She enjoyed getting to pet some different animals at a little petting zoo, too. She had her birthday cupcake and seemed to like that a lot," Gordon, 37, wrote on his blog alongside photos of his daughter's first birthday party in California.

Jeff Gordon: I'm Married to 'An Amazing Wife and Mother'

A daredevil on the racetrack, Jeff Gordon credits his wife, Ingrid, for being the rock in his family life.
"She's an amazing wife and mother," Gordon, 37, told PEOPLE at Wednesday's Pepsi 500 Running Wide Open party in Hollywood, which he cohosted with Pharrell Williams. "You've got to have a wife that's very understanding. I'm lucky to have that."
He explains, "It's because she wakes up everyday at 7 a.m. and does everything that she possibly can for her little girl – our little girl – and for me."
Gordon's model/actress wife, Ingrid Vandebosch, gave birth to their daughter, Ella Sofia Gordon, in June 2007.

NASCAR champion Jeff Gordon and his wife, Ingrid Vandebosch, are relishing life with their five-month-old daughter Ella Sofia.
As a first-time dad, Gordon, 36, tells PEOPLE he loves being hands-on with the feeding and diaper duty, but finds giving baths to little Ella the most rewarding. "The baths are the best! She's so happy in the bathtub," said Gordon.
