Channing Tatum's 32nd Birthday Present? A Surprise, Dancing Flash Mob!

Channing Tatum's 32nd birthday packed quite the (musical) surprise.
The Magic Mike star thought he was meeting his pals for a mellow birthday dinner on Thursday night at Southern Hospitality BBQ Restaurant in N.Y.C. – but, instead, it turned into an all-out dance party.
"Jenna Dewan surprised him with a choreographed flash mob," a source tells PEOPLE. After the actor arrived, "I've Had the Time of My Life" from Dirty Dancing began to play. Explains the source: "Much to his surprise, the nearby tables of what he thought were restaurant patrons jumped up, ripped off their regular shirts to reveal 'Happy Birthday Channing' tees and began dancing."
According to the source, the actor looked "completely surprised." And, mid-song, he grabbed Jenna and lifted her over his head, parallel to the floor – "just like the famous final scene in the movie," the source says.

He's been married for nearly three years, but Channing Tatum isn't slowing down when it comes to wooing wife Jenna Dewan.
"I see caring for somebody as a creative outlet," The Vow actor, 31, told PEOPLE at a press gathering for the movie last week.
"I like drawing little faces and writing little stories and hiding them in places."
His love notes to Dewan, 31, don't come without a twist of humor, though.

Generally, Mondays have super early call times. As in, 4:30 a.m. When we get onto set, I go into hair and makeup and Meeka comes with me. She sits on my lap while I get my hair done, and she really sits there and watches us do it. It's the most amazing thing. She's the best dog. When the makeup artist goes to apply mascara, Meeka licks her hand. We don't know why she does it, but Meeka gives hand kisses every time I get mascara put on. That's our morning routine.

It's been a happily-ever-after two years of domestic bliss for newlyweds Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan – not least because of Tatum's courteous behavior around the house.
"I hope I'm a good husband. I always put the toilet seat down," the G.I. Joe star, 30, told PEOPLE with a laugh at a recent New York screening of HBO's Earth Made of Glass, a documentary that he and Dewan executive produced (and which will air again on April 27).
"I grew up with women," he added, "so I would get in big trouble if I didn't put the toilet seat back down. It's been ingrained in me."

Newlywed Jenna Dewan says that while her life with Channing Tatum has "just gotten better" since they tied the knot last July, she admits she's still making progress on one spousal ambition.
"I've been trying really hard to be more domesticated," Dewan told PEOPLE during TheWrap.com's awards season party. "It's not in my nature to clean and cook, and so I've been really good about it. And we just actually had professional organizers that came to our house and did a whole bunch of organizing, which was the best thing that I could've done for the New Year, ever!
"And I've been learning to cook so I'm very excited about that!"
