Jenna Fischer Is One Crazy Bride-to-Be
Originally posted 11/05/2009 08:00AM
The Office's Jenna Fischer is usually a pretty sensible person, but all that goes out the door when it comes to her upcoming wedding to screenwriter Lee Kirk.
"I thought I was going to be one of those easy-going brides," Fischer, 35, tells Bonnie Hunt in an interview to air Thursday. "I never really thought about it. Whatever … a piece of paper, words – send it out."
But that attitude disappeared at the store where she bought the invitations.

How Jenna Fischer Stays the Focus of Watercooler Talk
Originally posted 10/19/2009 10:45AM
She may play a somewhat dowdy receptionist-cum-salesperson on The Office, but Jenna Fischer is well aware that being the resident hottie of a hit show means keeping herself in tiptop shape.
So after she broke her back in four places by falling down stairs in a Manhattan restaurant in 2007, she had a lot of work to do to lose the weight she gained during her convalescence.
"Before the accident, I wore size 26 jeans!" she says in the November issue of Shape, out Oct. 19. "I was truly in the best shape of my life. Afterward, I gained 10 lbs. and got flabby."
"And to add insult to injury, I ended up throwing my own drink in my face. My hair was caked with a putrid pineapple smell. It was awful," she says about her accident.
But her recipe for getting her lean body back was simple: hiking with friends and cutting down on fatty favorites.

Jenna Fischer: Why I Don't Wear My Engagement Ring
Originally posted 08/09/2009 01:00PM
Jenna Fischer may not wear a special piece of jewelry on her ring finger all the time – but that doesn't mean she's not happily engaged.
"I always see these tabloid reports about certain people being 'Spotted Without Their Wedding Ring!' like it's some big deal," Fischer, 35, writes on her MySpace page, where she answers questions from fans.
The Office star, who plans to tie the knot with writer Lee Kirk, says she doesn't wear any jewelry to work – including her engagement ring – because she "would have to take it off and leave it in my trailer, which I would never do."

Jon Hamm and Jenna Fischer took the chance to meet in St. Louis over the weekend for an afternoon of the national pastime. The pair, among dozens of celebs set to compete in this year's Taco Bell All-Star Legends and Celebrities Softball Game on July 14, got in a little batting practice in advance of event.
For Hamm – the Mad Men star and St. Louis native – the opportunity to play at Busch Stadium is a dream come true.
"Oh my God, I’ve always been a huge Cardinals fan," he told the Columbia Daily Tribune. "I remember going to the World Series in ’82, ’85 and ’87, and this is amazing. The fact that the All-Star Game is in St. Louis and that I’m playing here this week, it’s all pretty cool. I would have come for the game anyway."

Although they've been dating since January of last year, they stepped out publicly for the first time at the Emmy Awards in September 2008, when Fischer described Kirk to PEOPLE as "my super-cute boyfriend."

QUOTED: Jenna Fischer Thanks Crock-Pot Meals for Hanky-Panky Time
Originally posted 01/15/2009 02:55PM
"Ladies, if you have a Crock-Pot you got for your wedding and never use, dig it out and start cooking. This is the best invention since the microwave for busy women who want a home-cooked meal. You can make so many great things: turkey chili, pot roast, chicken breasts, ribs and my all-time favorite – Mom’s Stuffed Peppers. I prepared everything the night before, threw it in the Crock-Pot in the morning, set it on low and came home to dinner. My boyfriend adored it. We had more time to spend together that evening. Since we didn’t have to cook, it left time for hanky-panky!"

"We met through mutual friends," Fischer, 34, tells PEOPLE of Kirk. "We've actually known each other for a long time. He went to college with an old friend of mine."

Jenna Fischer: 'A Little' Crazy About Cats
Originally posted 09/12/2008 05:50PM
Jenna Fischer's character on The Office isn't a crazy cat lady – that role goes to costar Angela Kinsey – but in real life Fischer has a soft spot for her furry friends.
As a volunteer for the non-profit Kitten Rescue in L.A., the actress has fostered nine cats, including Honey Bear, a 25-lb. feline, who had "hiding issues."
She also dotes on her frail black-and-white cat Andy, who she rescued from a friend's apartment complex when she was a college student 16 years ago.
"In the show Angela has all these elaborate procedures for her cat," says Fischer, who will host Fur Ball at the Skirball, a fundraiser for Kitten Rescue, on Sunday at L.A's Skirball Cultural Center. "I've done all that – the eye drops and ear swabs. I've checked their poop and massaged their tummy."

Jenna Fischer: Angela Kinsey an 'Amazing Mother'
Originally posted 06/02/2008 05:00PM
Angela Kinsey may seem chilly on The Office. But Jenna Fischer says Kinsey, who gave birth May 3 to her first child, Isabel Ruby, is an "amazing mother."
"I'm beyond impressed," Fischer writes on her MySpace blog. "She has the calm of someone who's been through it before. The sleep deprivation makes her funny to talk to. I was visiting her one day, and she fell asleep in the middle of a conservation. Then, she woke up and kept talking as if nothing had happened!"
