We'd rather not talk about our awkward phases, mostly because we might still be in them. (Hey you, don't laugh – it's not a mullet, it's a way of life.)
So we were especially impressed when Jennifer Aniston, full name Jennifer "America's Sweetheart" Aniston, openly talked to Parade about hers.
"I don't think I had a care in the world at 25," the actress (and bride-to-be), now 44, tells the magazine. "That all started in my 30s, my awkward phase."
That's odd ... We don't recall Aniston sporting neon scrunchies, recklessly sized sweaters or anything resembling a mullet back in her so-called awkward phase, which would have begun in 1999. Let's investigate.

For many women, Jennifer Aniston is a style and beauty icon. But as she prepares to turn 45 in February, the actress confesses she's had her insecure life moments, calling her 30s an "awkward phase."
Now, a decade later, Aniston tells Parade in an exclusive interview that she's moved past those worries of the past and is feeling more comfortable about her whole package.
"I'm a little bit of a late bloomer! But it doesn't matter to me because it just gets better," Aniston said of growing older. "They do say youth is wasted on the young, but I feel just as youthful now – if not more – than I did when I was 25. I'm more in my body; I'm more in my mind. Life is full. Life is wonderful."

Some holiday traditions are too important to not do yourself – and when it comes to picking out a Christmas tree, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux don't put on airs.
The glamorous pair ventured out of their sprawling Bel Air mansion to personally pick out a tree – in this case a 10-ft. Noble Fir from Mr. Greentrees in Beverly Hills that Theroux paid for.
"Jen picks her own Christmas tree every year," says a witness. "It's a tradition for her. She's very specific about the tree that she wants. "
At the tree lot, "Jen was in a great mood and took her time to pick out the perfect tree," says the witness. "Justin helped her and she found a beautiful one."

While this season serves up plenty of decadent feasts and warm, fuzzy feelings, time spent with loved ones is often fraught with tension. And that was certainly true for the Friends gang throughout the series' many Thanksgiving episodes.
Despite their petty spats and various mishaps, Monica, Joey, Chandler, Phoebe, Ross and Rachel always eventually recognized what the holiday was truly about (even if that realization took the heartwarming sight of Ugly Naked Guy sharing a turkey with Ugly Naked Gal). Here's a look back at some of our favorite moments.

This weekend marks the anniversary of a very special episode of Friends, aptly titled "The One Where Ross Finds Out," which first aired on Nov. 9, 1995.
A little background: When the second season began, Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) showed up at the airport to tell Ross (David Schwimmer) his romantic feelings were requited, but soon discovered he was dating fellow paleontologist Julie.
By this episode, Rachel resolves to move on and lets Monica fix her up. The world's worst date ensues, during which Rachel chugs wine and obsesses over Ross and Julie. An intoxicated Rachel then proceeds to aggressively borrow another diner's giant cellphone (reminder: this was 1995) and leave a humiliating message on Ross's answering machine, proclaiming she's "over him."

Jennifer Aniston has a new look – and it appears that she's pretty excited about it.
On Saturday, her longtime hairstylist/friend Chris McMillan posted an Instagram shot of himself standing next to the engaged actress, who is sporting a brand-new bob and a wide-open smile.
Aniston, 44, who had been making headlines for her hair for decades now, caught some flak for the short hairstyle this week, but both she and McMillan make it clear where they stand on the new look.
