Melissa McCarthy's new comedy, The Boss, arrives in theaters on Friday. Given McCarthy's string of box office successes, the movie seems primed to be a hit. And we're stoked too, but the premise of the film has us recalling another female-led comedy: The 1989 Shelley Long cult hit Troop Beverly Hills.

Jenny Lewis successfully transitioned from child star of Jell-O commercials and Troop Beverly Hills to indie musician, and she's pretty at ease with her past, telling PEOPLE in 2014 that she's "thrilled that I was a part of something that has endured the test of time." (She was talking about the movie, not the Jell-O commercial.)

Twenty-five years ago this week, the Fred Savage movie The Wizard hit theaters. For many '80s babies, this was required viewing – either to see a first glimpse of the yet-to-be-released Super Mario Bros. 3 or to see what the Wonder Years star looked like in contemporary clothes.

Imagine Anne Hathaway, Kristen Stewart and Brie Larson as guys – in '70s-inspired Adidas tracksuits, flat-bill ball caps and gristly porn-staches, as they breakdance in all-white suits.

You may know Jenny Lewis from a few places. She had a nearly 20-year career in Hollywood, with roles in cult classics Troop Beverly Hills and The Wizard before abruptly pivoting into music with adored indie band Rilo Kiley.
Lewis has also turned in critically acclaimed collaborations with the Watson Twins and her partner Jonathan Rice as part of Jenny & Johnny. She's releasing her third solo album, The Voyager, on July 29, and is touring extensively in support of it. We talked to Lewis on the heels of her performance at New York City's Governor's Ball about touring, the new record, and Troop Beverly Hills.

New York City's Governors Ball doesn't have quite the cachet (or celebrity sightings) of Coachella, or the sprawl of Bonnaroo, but it's no slouch in the ever-increasing summer festival lineup.
The three-day festival took over Randall's Island this weekend, and while it'd be impossible to recapture all three days' worth of music, here are some highlights.

Jake Gyllenhaal definitely has a thing for blondes, but there is one redhead who remains near and dear to his heart: Jenny Lewis.
You may remember Lewis, 35, as a rich girl scout in Troop Beverly Hills, as Fred Savage's young love interest in The Wizard, as part of Angelina Jolie's circle of gal pals in Foxfire, or as Gyllenhaal's girlfriend back in 2001.
The former child actress, who has become a singing indie rock favorite by fronting band Rilo Kiley and releasing two solo albums, has remained friends with the Globe nominee, even after moving on and dating other people.
